Right now the only dogs I own are Jeb and Maggie so I don't have anything for local hunts. I'll still put Maggie in a few bigger hunts and some $KC hunts too and I do plan on running a couple of Maggie's littermates at some of the local hunts for my friend Derek if he wants me to also. This is kind of my plans untill I have my next pup to work with. It will be a pup out of Maggie who will be bred next time she comes into heat. I have been considering breeding to Red, but I have'nt decided for sure yet. That's why I have'nt mentioned it to you. I do think they would cross well from papers to traits, but I have a couple other studs in mind for her to. So I still have'nt decided for sure.

Hey Dan's Copper dog is out of Jeb isnt he. I have heard that he is a really nice hound. Have yet to hunt with him. Have you heard anything on those 2 pups I sold to those guy you know?

I'm pretty sure the Copper dog is out of Jeb's littermate sister that Dan owns.

As for the 2 pups out of Red that are down this way, the one that my buddy Tony has is running and treeing coon. Nice young dog with good potential. He would be further along then what he is if he was put in the woods more. The other young dog that someone else owns has'nt really been getting work with much at all as far as I know.

Thank's, John. I had old Jeb out last night hunting in a steady downpour. He busted in about 400yds and had one treed in a big oak. It was so foggy that I could'nt even get a light up the tree. When I 1st started shining the coon looked right at me for a second and I could see his eyes shine through the fog. Well I could'nt get him to look again after I had the gun loaded. It was so foggy I could'nt even see the bark of the tree 30ft up. I had to walk away and leave the coon. I did'nt even hunt anymore after that. It was just too foggy to bother. We're gonna try it again tonight though.

I've said before that Jeb only has 31 pups on the ground with only 2 being titled so far. 1 GrNt and 1 NtCh. That puts him at a reproduction rate of 6.45% so far. I can almost garantee that ATLEAST 2 more will title out of those 31 pups. Even if only 2 more pups title out of those 31 that would put him at a reprodution rate of 12.9%.
Check the reproducers lists and compare reproduction percentages to what Jeb has now and what he will have. % wise folks are missing out by not breeding to Jeb, but yet its been well over 2 years since he's even bred a female.
I try to not let it bother me though and it does'nt bother me like it used to because I know I'm not missing out. Eventually folks will notice that my mutts are'nt total crap-eaters. lol. I guess 3 generations of GrNt's out of my kennels does'nt prove anything so I'm working on the 4th now.

Maggie looked pretty dumb this past weekend when it counted. Well tonight was the first time I've got her back out since then. I've been working with her on recasting in the same woods for PKC hunts. Looking like its been working. First woods we went to tonight she made 3 trees and had 3 coon in less then 20mins. That's including walking and shine time which was atleast half of that time. Of coarse the next spot we went to she ended up treed 634yds in after working an old feeder track for a while. She was treed on a big blow down. I think the coon might have give her the slip on that one, but I could have overlooked it too. It could have been in over a dozen trees from the big blown down tree she was up in. Maggie's capable of being a BIG score type of dog just like her daddy. I'm just trying to make sure she's tuned up for a big 3 night added purse hunt we got coming up in two weeks at a club that's fairly close to me.

There are now breedings available at Nevergone in Indiana on Jeb. However they will only be used on select top females. GrNt females or females that are well on their way to granding out.

Semen is now available at Nevergone Canine Breeding Facility in Wabash Indiana. It costs about $225 to have your female bred with frozen semen and Dean has a very high success rate.
