Well it's now been two weeks since surgery and I finally felt comfortable enough to slip out tonight for a couple of quick drops.

Ole Holly didn't skip a beat, had a den, then treed a quick hot track with a coon in the 1st fork. I gotta knock a lil rust off her as there will be an RQE coming up mid March about 25 miles from home, Hope to get the Ole gal qualified again so we can dance with the big boys once again in the fall, LOL!!

With the snow coming this might be the only nigt in the next week that will be fit to hunt.

Doug, I thank You All for your wonderful prayers. God surely must be listening as Debbie continues to show improvement each day. As for Holly, I sure will give her a special hug. She is one of those type dogs that loves to be loved on and I like her for that.

She is also one that gives you 110% each and every drop, and I love that as well. Keep those wonderful pics coming, and Oh By The Way. I absolutely loved the story you posted about Neil & Ike

Also to follow up Bill Clarks stepson called me, Bill told him to tell me I can call and he will tell me anything I want to know. His srepson Corey has got all Bills tapes about the history and breeding of all his Lightfoot dogs he is gonna convert over to cd so I intend to do an article on it eventually to honor those dogs and show how the Lightfoot dogs and Boyds Little Joe came from the same stock. Thank You Doug. We sometimes forget to acknowledge just how important our wives are to the enjoyment we receive from following these ole ticked up hounds.

The information on those tapes would be priceless. Now that you mention it, I do seem to remember reading many years ago a story about how the lightfoot hounds went back to the same stuff as Boyd's Little Joe. I know I always thought I would like to try some of the Lightfoot Blood, over some of my old blood, as it was heavy Cash, Little Joe, Rambling Sue, and Ladybird.

I just came up with a 12 month old pup that is Very heavy bred my old stuff, with a shot of Paul Gibson's Party Dancer dog. Party Dancer was Tapp & Goose breeding. This dog is not the prettiest hound I ever owned, but man has he sure got some natural talent. I'll post a pic one of these days when all my English buddies need a good chuckle, LOL!!!

P.S. My Pappy always told me "It don't matter much what they look like on the box, as they all get prettier stretched up on a tree" Hope he is right about this one!!!!

This is a picture Of My Grand Daughter "Lil Miss Kiley Welch", and my new pup. This Pup is a grand daughter to Gr.Nt. Ch. Main Street Jack, Nt.Ch. Sun Set Party Dancer, Hooper Ridge Speed Buggy. (Gr.Nt.Ch. Hooper Ridge Rocket X Hooper Ridge Cricket) Nt.Ch. Morris's Dolly, (Heavy Speck & Silvertone Hammer)

Kiley loves to go to see my dogs every time she comes to visit. That coonskin cap she is wearing was her birthday gift to me when we were on vacation last summer at Myrtle Beech. She found it at her house and just now decided to bring it back to grandpa, LOL. Gosh I love this little one, She (like them all) is VERY SPECIAL!!!!

Thank You so much Terry & Doug. Yes this little gal is a cracker box to say the least. Reminds me sooo very much of her mother when she was that age.

She sent me a video of her singing along to Taylor Swift's song, "Call me Maybe" or something like that. When she started that "Never Ever" dialect, I thought I was gonna die laughing. She sure loves my ole coon hounds, and Holly is her favorite too, cause she won't jump upon her.

At any rate she is such a joy, and Thank You All again!!!!

Hello Randy, Thanks so much for the compliment. That little girl has a non stop motor thats for sure. If my new pup has the energy of my grand daughter, Then she will surely set the woods on fire when looking for a coon track LOL!!!

Ole Holly & I are headed for a local RQE tomorrow night at Barlow Coon Club. Good Lord Willing, we will get qualified tomorrow night so we can play with the big boys this fall.

Congrats to my good friend, Gr.Nt.Ch. Hooper Ridge Hang'em High Holly. Holly qualified last night, to again, participate in the UKC World Hunt.

She had to come overcome a huge mistake (one by me and one by her) but ended up treeing 3 coons to win the cast. She just edged out a pretty nice walker hound at the very end of the hunt to pick up the cast win.

A big Thank You to ALL the Good ENGLISH breeders that were ahead of me in producing the fine dogs in Holly's pedigree. Holly may not been the best English dog to have ever treed a coon, but she sure is the finest FEMALE I have had the privlidge to put my lead strap on and say (come on baby "Let's go hunting")

I sure am enjoying this Ole Gal!!! Good Hunting to all!!

Thank You all so very much. It sure is a blast to know that you are hunting a dog that is capable of treeing a coon at any given moment. Again I want to thank all the GREAT English Breeders that were responsible for putting all the things together that makes Holly so special to me. It is through all those efforts that I am able to reap the benifits of this fine hound.

Now two more hurdles (getting past the zones & winning the big one) LOL I know it's a big dream at this point but dreams are what keeps us young, (isn't it)?

Doug Robinson, funny you would say that my friend. John Walters and I were just talking last week about taking a road trip up your way. I love the looks and breeding behind Bluespeck. He seems to tree coons in all kinds of weather and (to me) thats a true sign of a real coondog. Oh by the way Doug, You sure are welcome to come to our little town of Glouster, but I don't think you will find the senic beauty that one might find near Niagra Falls LOL!!

Again Thank You Doug Terrell, Dave Reihle, Randy Crane, Randy Baker, & Tom Steavens. You guys are all TOP NOTCH !!!

Doug Terrell, LE is sure putting some mighty fine pups on the ground and this cross you and Asa just made (in my opinion) will have a significant impact on our English breed in a couple years from now. Glouster is 390 miles from Warsaw, Mapquest said 6 hrs and 58 minutes!

Bluspeck never liked the traveling drooled alot in the box on long trips, the wife blamed it on my driving, I told her I needed a new truck!!LOL

Maybe a road trip is in order, been planning on going down to hunt with Charles Hively maybe we can hookup and get John Walters out!! I didnt know you knew John? Been talking to him for a couple yrs now never met him, just a great guy! John is one of those guys who has the bug bad he thinks coondogs and hunting every 15 mins.!!! Talk at ya later Dave!

Yes Doug, I got to know John many years ago. He is a great guy!! and you are right, he certainy has the coonhunting bug, LOL!! I don't know how far Charles lives from me, John and I can come that way and hunt with you guys up there, or You and Charles are welcme to come on down here after you get done up there and take a hunt in these danged ole hills.

Either way, I sure would enjoy meeting you in person, and take a hunt with you and BlueSpeck, and I know John is excited to do so as well. I have a 20' camper and an empty dog kennel that you are welcome to, if you do decide to come this way.

And if coming on down here is not a good option for you at this time, John and I are looking for an excuse to take a road trip also, and 390 miles would just make a fine trip for us, LOL!!
