-- The Litter Of Impact Grand Pups (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928316809)

Posted by Ron Ashbaugh on 05-08-2013 06:47 PM:

Mike if I could tell you I could. I have two dogs. A female that is coming on 5 and a pup out of her. The sire of the female did not have enough pups to be officially put into the records which is very typical of plott studs. They are often lucky to get 100 pups in a lifetime so your sample size is very very low. When I raised the litter I chose to go to the #1 reproducer at the time from UKC. I am not sure what the percentage was but if you look at plotts at all it wasn't much, but was the best of the worst so to speak. So far she has been a really nice pup to start and own.

Thanks for the well wishes and I hope you get to hunt with another good plott someday.

And for Mr Duemmer I have 3 8 month olds that hunt spring super stakes that if you come to the hunt I would be very happy to meet you and maybe we can make a hunt or draw out together . They are out of Dr Law and 2 of them are super freaks and the other it seems rediculous to say hes a slow starter because he didnt start treeing until 8 months . Ive heard about dogs treeing coons without the older dogs at 5 months but these are the first Ive seen . They will get in country and are good about having the coon . I didnt have a problem breeding to an untitled dog as Law was put in a couple of hunts at 9 months old before Tom began struggling with his health . Tom thought he could win . He didnt have to prove it to me as Lipper and his offspring have already proven to me that they can reproduce . Ive hunted with pups from Law ,Rooster , amd Lippers Lady and have yet to see one from them that wasnt impressive . Remember this name Bear Bottoms Thunder Struck. He will be a winner and is truely amazing . Lighten up these pups are young but they are coming be patient why else would there be so much buzz about them if they were not so impressive to their owners . Im a Lipper lover and fan of the impact litter as a Lipper dog was the first dog that ignited my passion for coonhunting and the dogs from the litter of impact have rejuvenated me . Lipper dogs appeal to competition hunters, pleasure hunters, big game . Dogs from this line have kept me in superior coon hounds for 30 years . I have a great deal of respect for many of promoted stud dogs during this time period and the current studs most of them if not all find Lipper in their roots . Tom has told me You have had good dogs he doesnt hate on anyone I hope Law and the rest of this litter are sucessful . Maybe we can have a Law hunt like the Mojo Madness I think the way these guys stand behind their dogs is awesome. Im not a rich man and cant afford a handler nor would I want one no offense to guys that do that . But if I can win with dogs from this line theyre pretty darn good . Im enjoying the party !

Mike thanks for the offer, i would very much like to see those pups go if i get the opportunity. I have a young bone collector female that i hope to have ready for the SS. You sound like a hunter thats not affraid to turn them loose and let the dogs speak for themselves, and i respect that. Seems a shame that the "impact litter" wasnt put in the hands of more guys like you.
I hunted a couple lipper dogs back in the day and have fond memories of a couple, but the days when i had big enough country and young enough legs for that type hound are gone.
When you were describeing how your pups started it reminded me of an old article that i have somewhere written by the man that started lipper as a pup.

Mr. Carl Fox, you don"t have to look very far anymore. The Lipper train has ran all the way to Taylorsville,Ky. I have a 11 month old female off of Rooster and war creek anna. I entered her in the salt river classic this past weekend in Mt washington ,Ky and won 2 best of shows, 1 first place win and was overall champion for the 2 nights. not bad for only her 5th time out at night. She is the real deal

hopefully we can get together and i really like Bone myself . ill have one soon as do i also have a mojo pup im going to start soon . i took these law pups along yesterday about 8pm . i have a Drum female we were going to do a turnout coon for . My Dr Law pups treed a coon that I suppose had been laid up 10 yards away from where the turnout coon was treed . That has never happened before . I guess the coon found a buddy . The local animal shelter in town gives me all the coons so I can stock my spots . Coons are thin here or my other dogs are sorry lol . But my Law pups are just special . Im blessed to have really really top pups that are good independant tree dogs all at 12 months and under ( 5 ). we have a website that will be live in about 10 days ColdTraxxKennels.com if you want to check us out and see videos of the dogs and what hunts and activities we have going on . i have great partners to help hunt them all and we cant wait to hit the hunts with them . Mark Hicks has a head strart on me with making the first dual grand hes a great guy and fun to hunt with . Maybe I can be first to win a super stakes or world hunt ?

Woody was out of Lawyer and was a pretty nice hound . He treed a little too much ... But he was a tree dog and treed alot of coons.

This is awesome and I believe we'll see a lot more pups that the litter of impact produce in the winners circle.

By the way congrats Mr.Treadway.Looks like alot of the these Lipper grandpups are early startin and have the tools to win.Just like i remember them when i was a kid.The lipper blood i was raised around was super fast track driving coondogs that had way more heart than ur average dog. They forced the coon to climb so accuracy was never an issue.I got alot of good memorys with them.
