Had a blast hunting with Kori Jean last night.... She had even more fun as she slid down the steep hill to the tree.... Giggled her lil heart out. Giggled and laughed some more as Moon pulled her back up the hill.

Last night Carl Gudgeon, Terry Goza, Zeb Holkesvik, and Aubrey went out for a little Redbone hunt on the mules. They took Ox (Clyde X Boo), Chief (Clyde X Bonnie), Rock (Rip X Rose), and Walter (Rip X Rose). From the pictures & stories, it looks like they had a pretty good time.

Moon Treeing. Had a great time!! Went out for an all nighter and got ten coon!! First 7 were easy and the last three we had to work for them!!! All in all a fantastic night of coon hunting with my friend Jeff.

Skeeter has come along extremely well in the last month!!

Here is a little owl that we missed the opportunity to take a picture of the first time as it flew away. Came out of the woods on the same trail and got to take a several pictures of this LITTLE owl. We got about 12 feet away from him before he flew away!

Say hello to my lil friend!! LOL

He was out again last night. Took Clyde & Rattle (Rip X Star). He has been very happy with Rattle's progress.....she is putting everything together and coming along nicely.

first night out with no pup trainer

This was Ann,s first night out with no help. (Clyde/Chance pup just turned 1yr old) She did a pretty nice job. Had 1 track she couldn't finish then did a layup and I couldn't find it. Then she ran a 200 yd track to find this 20 # boar asleep.
As you can see her owners were quite proud. Next time we'll get a picture on the wood, my boy forgot he had his camera. She really stretches out.

Thanks for the update, Stacey! Love the picture, priceless! Your kids will remember these nights for the rest of their life......Aubrey still talks about when he first started hunting with his Dad and younger brother, and those first dogs, and the first coon (he was 10).

Aubrey took Abram out on Saturday night. They kept it pretty short, but had a lot of fun. Took littermates Ox & Star (Clyde X Boo)

Last night, he went alone on the mules. Took the old man (Clyde) and one of his grandpups, Rattle (Rip X Star). Rattle is about a year and a half old and this is her first kill season (he didn't bother with her last year because she was pretty young). She did a great job last night, she is an every breath treedog......he is tickled to death.

6 coon went up this slanted tree that leaned into another. Moon was half way up this tree when I got to her.

Tiny and the 6 very large coon that were up the same tree... 6 in one tree is a record for Tiny and myself.

Tiny makes for a great mule!!! HAHA!
We weighed these 6 hides on a scale at 32 lbs.

Aub's been out several nights this week. Working some young dogs.

Monday night it was Ox and a pup out of him we call Sass. She is 7 months old, and this was her second night to the woods. Her first night to the woods they made 1 drop, and the dogs caught one on the ground. On Monday night, she struck in with Ox, ran a beautiful track, located, treed every breath, and never looked back. She made 6 trees that night, so Aub was happy with that.

Tuesday night it was Clyde, Dice, and Sunni's turn. Had a good night, Sunni keeps progressing nicely. She has made 2 split trees now, and shows definite lay-up ability.

Then Thursday night, Ox & Girl were up. Girl is a 12 month old Clyde X Chance pup, and is just starting to get to go as she has just come out of heat. She is also coming along, she participates on tracks and trees and kills. She has a nice bawl mouth, and drifts a track. Looking forward to getting her to the woods a little more before the weather shuts us down.

Those are some neat pics, Carl. Really shows the depth of some of the hills and valleys around here.

Wanted to update the post with a few pictures from Terry Goza. He and his boys have been doing some hunting with Scott Johannamire and his boys. Sounds like they have had some good hunts, and the young'uns are having a good time......that is what it is all about.

Jay, those are my old stompin grounds where I spent a lot of time growing up. I went back there with Bo and Bentley not too long ago. They ran a hard track, had a coon in the tree, and treeing every breath. However, I was reminded how hard you have to work for the coon at times in those hills. I think it was a little over 2 hours by the time I got to them and then back to the truck. The hills haven't shrunk at all since I've been gone either.
