I'll be firing back up tonight. Finally got adjusted to my new meds.
So we'll see how it goes. The dogs are getting rammy.
EZ is ready to get it dun. I'll post piks if all goes well.

Did quick drop. Took all of about a minute. They popped a pair layup. Didn't even have the garmin out of my pocket when they fell treed. I was expecting it to take longer and deeper because I harvested 16 coon from this spot last year. I was hoping to get EZ to open on a track. I got EZ to open some on the tree. She sounds awsome. Nice deep mouth on her.
Enjoy.

Hey Woofter,

Hunt
Hey Scott, it looks like you got a good hunt in before the weather set in. It's snowing so hard right now that I can't even see the hills across from the house and it's supposed to keep it up through tonight and into tomorrow morning. I hate it that it's snowing so hard after we had melted off a lot of what was here but...it's still winter in Wisconsin so I guess we'll just hunker down, grin and bear it.
The dogs look and sound good Scott, it's good to hear EZ getting with the program, I'd guess she'll be a good one somewhere down the road, I know I sure like her litter mate brother, the pup we call Gun.
We'll see how this storm ends up but I'd guess it will set our plans back at least a little bit as far as getting out hunting and training goes.

The weather turned here to. The wind was out of the east last night, so I knew it was coming.
I was going to do another cast, but the dogs were iced up from the ditch. So I packed it in. We'll be back at next weekend. Weather permitting.

the weather was great here last night wind was calm 40 degree nice treed 4 coons with my rebel pup
Weather
Yep, Pastor Mike and Buck told me it was warm as heck at SRD and even at night it was still in the high 60s...that had to be quite a transition for dogs and people to deal with, especially the northern dogs. It was real nice for about a week or so and we lost a lot of snow cover but...
Winter is back...
For those of you who know my place...there is a big ridge in this picture...somewhere...
We'll see up to 15" of snow from this storm but...it's still winter in Wisconsin so we'll just grin and bear it for another month or so.

one thing about it
Since it is nasty outside i put on a big pot of chili. So i will have a big bowl and watch a movie or go out and play with the puppy's for awhile. There isn't much else to do.

Winter...
Yep, I'm sick of winter for sure. You're right about the rest though, it makes for a cozy day and we have a big venison roast just coming out of the oven with mashed potatos, gravy and all the fixin's....that's about as good as it gets.
The snow has stopped here for the time being also and I hope it's done for the rest of the storm. The weather radar looks like the worst has lifted north and east but there's still some nasty looking stuff south and west, still to come this way I suppose.
At least the temperature is decent with just a little bit of a breeze so far. If all we get is the 6-7" we already got, I'll be a happy camper.
Good luck with your puppy playing...that sounds like a great way to kill some time.

Tom we were supose to get 10 to 15" but only got about a 1/2" of sleet and rest went north of us but may get a couple out of yet tonight. Was nice to not get it as I'm sick of it.

Weather
It's good that it passed you guys for the most part, we sure got a blast of it here but not so bad as it could have been to this point. It's windy as heck right now, gusting to at least 40 MPH but mostly it has been sleeting since late afternoon with real heavy snow squalls blowing in and out quick.
I'm sick of it too but it looks like we'll have to put up with it for a little while yet...and then spring will be right around the corner...eh?

Glad to hear Da Moose had a great showing with weekend Tom. Buck does a great job with him and I wanted to send you guys my congratulations! I'm hoping I get to hunt with da great Moose soon enough.
Wanted to let you know that Rock picked up a 2nd place win towards his NITECH this week. Rack um up for the Rabble Rouser kin!
Rock
That's great Corey, I'm glad to hear that you picked up another cast win on Rock. I'm sure it will come in good time so keep at it.
Good nights will always come around and so will bad nights but sticking to it is the key to being successful with hounds so enjoy the ride.

Nice
Real nice picture and great job my friends. Dave
Nice
Great picture guys...with Pastor Mike handling Moose, I can understand why he's standing so nice but...how in the heck did you get Richard to stand still long enough to get a good picture
It's a good picture guys, one to keep track of for the future, that's for sure.
We ended up with about 13" of snow out of this last batch and a lot of drifting with the high winds that followed it. I got everything plowed out again and I sure hope I don't have to do it too many more times this year. We were getting primed up to get the dogs back in training but now it looks like we're gonna have to wait it out again for at least a little while.
Good luck on getting that last win Buck, Moose is doing good for his age...eh?

Things got a little heated up last night.
MOE got a little live fur for the second time.
Moe
Great pictures Rob...you're sure getting the hang of action picture taking.
Moe looks real good and it's good to see he's willing to mix it up at his age, he's a real nice young prospect. I know it's hard to look forward years into the future but just imagine what he'll be like when he's a mature male at 3 1/2 years old or so...man oh man...it looks like he'll be a nice hound.
You're doing good with him Rob, I always tell folks that the most difficult time with training a pup is the time between when they start to show real good, now and then, and when they become a finished hound. There is a lot of learning that has to happen between being a pup and a mature hound but it sure makes it easier to keep moving forward when they are doing what he's doing at 11 months old.
It seems that the Moose and Leinie cross was a good one and we'll look forward to doing more with Slim and hearing how the rest of Moe's brothers and sister are doing through the spring, summer and next fall.
Great job Rob!

I love this picture Carl...I got a real chuckle out of a couple of them...especially this one above. We need to just figure out how to paste that pup onto a back drop of blue sky
The pups are looking in real good shape...good condition and happy as a lark...that's the way it should be.
It's a good thing spring is just around the corner because that crew looks like they're ready to get to work...eh?

Since I have retired Tom Tom again, I took my 2 yr old grandson of Rabble Rouser out tonight. We went to the same places that I haven't been able to tree a coon and guess what? Wicked Wilson treed 4.
Wilon is also a Grand pup of the great Mongo Red. His great granddad on the bottom is South Branch Midnight Pete. That means that he is Maitland/Solberg/Lambert bred! And Wilson's sire is a brother of Long Tall Sally. This means that Wilson and Moose and Tom Tom are all first cousins.
