I doubt I had buck's clothes on in that pic........they would be hanging to the ground now on me......

I'm down 30 pounds now officially........still have 5 to 7 to go to get to my goal weight. Looks like I will be getting some new hunting clothes cause nothing fits me now, not even my briarbuster vest.....it swallows me now.

Jason, wendell took that pic at autumn oaks a month ago, I was down only 20 pounds then. But he was right......I had forgotten how to work my garmin.......but it only took me a few minutes to finally get willow added to it.

I was texting bb earlier.......he actually brought something to my attention........the moose/frog pups that I thought were 5 months are only 4 months old and will be 5 months on oct. 3rd. That means that hazel treed her first night in the woods with her momma while she was only 4 months......pretty impressive.

Well, we just got home a little while ago. I was privileged to perform a wedding for two of my youth leaders that I have pretty much raised since they were 12 years old. It was a beautiful wedding and awesome to just be a part of it.

Training Session

I took the 2 moose/frog pups out for a training session this evening. They just turned 5 months old yesterday...........all I can say is wow. I watched one of them find the track and begin to open up with the other joining in.......move the track and then open with a huge locate and start treeing like a trooper.....it was a great session. Forgot the camera because I was trying to hurry before it got all the way dark.

Doing another in the morning so we will have some moisture on the ground. This time the drag will be longer and harder with more twists and turns. we'll see what happens but I have a feeling that I will be grinning from ear to ear.

Sounded good...

I had a phone message this evening and it was those two pups treeing and it was a hoot to listen to it. Those little girls have big dog voices and were giving it everything they had by the sounds of it.

I like it when that happens Mike...starting good doesn't ever guarantee them finishing good but I've seldom seen them fail when they start with tha kind of intensity...and I've started a few...eh?

I'll be very interested to watch them come along...it starts with a good foundation and then the right two dogs have to be put together to get it to come out right...those pups are showing at this point, that the steps have been done right...

Training!!

Since we talked Tom, the pups have had two more training sessions, one yesterday morning and then this morning. They had to do all by themselves...........and boy did they get-r-done. These pups have great potential. Already opening on track and throwing big locates when they hit the tree. I'm looking forward to them growing up.

Those are good looking pups Mike...there's not too much better than seeing youngsters like that, get on the wood with that kind of intensity. I'm going to venture to say that they'll both be under a pile of coons by the end of this fall and winter and I'll even venture to say that they'll do their share on track and tree.

It's looking like putting Moose and Frog together was a good mix...it's going to be interesting to watch it all play out over the next year or so.

Nice job also of giving them the foundation they deserve to get off to a great start.

They are nice for sure. I can see both moose and frog characteristics in both of them already. It's going to be a fun fall for sure.

Duh, Moose X Haze female or Haze X Moose female, that is a no brainer for sure. You don't have to be a big time breeder to see that. I can't wait for Wendy to come in heat. ("Duh" is my new favorite word.)

So far, we have bred two haze females to moose, so far so good. It would be interesting to bring a moose female to haze at some point. Can only do so much at this point.

I fished in the smokey mountain national park today for 6 hours. Had a blast. They sure were hitting on dry flies today. Have seen a couple of bears too. One big one and one medium sized one. Gonna fish again for a couple of hours on friday.

Yes, but willow is a sis to moose.....I'm saying we need to try a female that is directly out of moose to haze. we know the half brother/sis cross worked with haze and willow, I would just be curious to see what happens when we cross a female directly out of moose back to haze.

Absolutely...........I just got back home this evening and tiredness has set in. I've been gone for almost two weeks. I'm getting ready to load up frog and a pup and hit the woods for a drop. We'll see what happens.
