HAVING FUN
Thanks Ron and I hope all is well up your way and that yaw have a great weekend also. That Image on that Flag was so perfect for the weekend we are celebrating. I text it to Beverly and she tagged a bunch of folks on Facebook and last time she looked it had been shared almost 200 times.
Mason and I had a fun day fishing and in the top picture he is holding a bream up with the help of his brother Jaxson. We did a lot of swimming then at dark got ready to go Coon Hunting with BO. Mason posing under the big Red Oak and Moss before we left. Had a good hunt with my Buddy and Bo and now we watching Last Of The Mohicans and eating Ice Cream. We 2 spoiled Coon Hunters for Sure!!

Similar Day
It was a very relaxing day here too. Watched the CUBS win again this afternoon with a few showers moving thru the area. Then went to campground to eat smoked turkey legs & brisket for supper. While grandkids played at camper, my son-in-law & I went to river & caught 6 catfish before dark, so I know what's for supper tomorrow night after another grandsons' graduation. Just good to relax after the long road trip last weekend. Take care, Ron.
PS- Sitting here eating ice cream/pineapple on it myself.

I took this picture this evening as the sun was setting over the River and I didn't notice at the time but the white out image in the Flag looks like a Soldier with his Helmet on to me. I have took a lot of pictures of the flag with the River in the background and Never had an image on one. I guess its like Clouds, you look at them long enough you can see what you want to see but the Image in this Flag is Our Soldier with his Helmet on Protecting US. That's what I see.
Did some fishing today and they were biting great. Caught a bunch and had a fish fry around the bonfire this evening then went Coon Hunting. The neighbor and his 2 boys went to and brought their new hound. We didn't have a great hunt but had fun and Bo ended up deep treed on a big pine on the edge of a Briar Thicket with tons of Berries. Bam was still trailing out in them and I got him caught up as it was late. Big day fishing with Mason tomorrow and hope we catch a lot more.
Danny, Mason and I will look through all our driftwood and see what we can come up with for you. I will send you pictures of the ones I think you might like.
Mark I buy my Crawfish from a guy just across the State line and last sack I bought was 1.29 a pound. That's Select, Clean, Big Crawfish. But wholesale you would have to get on down in Cajun Country a little deeper to get them straight from the Crawfishermen or who they sale to.

TEARS FROM HEAVEN
The Memorial Day Weekend came to an end this evening as the Rain came pouring down. It's dark now and so far we have had 2" of needed Rain. It had gotten dry for this time of year. Won't get to cut the Hounds but that's ok, conditions will be prime for treeing plenty the rest of the week. Got a couple of little jobs to do this week but nothing major. Got to get Blade and Pebbles in the Woods, its GO TIME!

Home of some future hopefuls.....
BOGUE CHITTO BLUES
The Blues and I enjoying our evening swim this evening. Rain has moved out and the Sun is shining. Will see if we can tree a couple tonight. Bo and Blade first then Bam later by himself. I have a small job to finish up in the morning then a guy that owns a Cabinet Shop is coming out to look at some Sinker so hoping that turns into a sale and a lot more future sales. Tuesday I will get started making a Sinker Cypress Hope Chest for a guy in Baltimore Maryland. I have never made anything like that so I'm kinda stressing it but feel I will get it done. Once finished we will meet him in North Carolina to deliver it and Beverly, Mason and I will spend a few days around Cherokee, N. C. and see the Blue Ridge Mountains and Mingo Falls then go to Charlotte, N. C. and tour the Nascar Hall of Fame Museum and Hendrick Motor Sports Shop and watch them build Jimmie Johnson a car. That's the plan as long as the guy likes the Hope Chest and says bring it on but if he don't like the pictures of it when I'm done we will be staying home and touring Paw Paws Museum, lol!
Thanks Jeremy, I'm glad you put her in good hands and hoping she works out for them. Take Care.

If
You want to hunt them blue ridge mountains I ant but a hour and 15 from Cherokee also bring u a trout rod u can catch plenty of trout and only have to buy a permit from reservation
THANKS!!
blueonblue, I sure do appreciate the invite but when I get out of these flat swamp bottoms into steep hills I don't last very long and those mountains would probably do me in. We going to look at the sights and deliver that Hope Chest and come on back home. If you have some good Valley hunting in the river or creek bottoms then I would sure be tempted to take you up on that offer in the fall when the leaves are changing color and its cooler. Thanks again and if you ever want to hunt the thick swamps come on down this way and we will get after them.

Oh
I can find some fair flat places or at least places we can drive maybe next time your this way we can hunt Peebles and her brother frost one night have a good trip
WOMEN
Had to tell a Little Story on Beverly. I got an unexpected text yesterday about a pup that I might be interested in. I have two to many now and after Long Thought on getting that one back from JR. Willis I decided I just couldn't make room or have the time to hunt all these pups as they are close to the same age, so she stayed in Kentucky. Then I had a Very Generous Offer of another that I had to turn down also. BUT, and that's a BIG BUT, when this text came in yesterday about this pup that I already knew about and I had wanted a female from this cross but it didn't work out, it got my attention. Its a Male, lightly started but will tree his on easy coon, good looking pup bred out of this world with a mouth to Die For. The kind of mouth I feel GOD will use in Heaven when its time to call me HOME so I know the right way to go. Anyway, this is where Beverly comes in. When I worked for Coastal and bought pups she never said a word or looked crazy or anything. But last night I saw a little something troubling when I told her that BOGUE CHITTO BUCKSHOT BOB would be coming here next week. Yaw ever fool with horses enough and have a few that haven't been rode in a while and you snap a lead on the halter of one and lead him away from his buddies and start to put the saddle on and he just kind of cocks his head and you start to see the whites around his eyes and you know when you put your foot in the stirrup and swing up PREPARE FOR HELL?!! Yea, that's the kind of look that I saw in Beverly's eyes last night when I told her about this pretty new pup. It can't have anything to do with I already have a Kennel Full or that I'm unemployed, she must be getting sick or something so I'm gonna keep an eye on her and if that look comes back in her eyes I'm getting her to the Doctor QUICK!!!!

TRIP
Thanks blueonblue. I'm taking Pebbles tonight for a drop. A guy caught a coon in town and I just picked it up to relocate it to our River Bottom so I will cut him loose after dark and see if her and Blade can tree him. I can tell he's gonna be a Runner so they going to have to put the pressure on him to make him climb. I get her going good I would sure love to get up your way in cooler weather and hunt with you. Have you got Frost started yet or about to?
Mr. Ed she said Thanks! I know she's a keeper but I'm thinking she might be wondering if I am, lol!
Tommy we won't be making that hunt. Claude called yesterday while I was out to remind me of it too. I had already planned to go to Brookhaven and take Mason with me. He's into baseball and looks like he's goona be a Natural Born Great and that's awesome but there is also a part of me that knows as he gets older that dang baseball will take my little buddy for the Summer, Every Summer. So I'm going to take him to some hunts and hope the cast members will be patient with me and my Little Buddy trying to keep up and get to Ole Bo at the tree. It's my only chance of saving him from Baseball, lol!

Yes
I've got frost started pretty good he's got a million dollar mouth he's finally rolling over to a good chop on tree and sounds like a freight train going thru the woods I like him..
BAM AND BO
Blueonblue he sounds like the kind I like! Glad to hear he's started good. I been busy with Bam and didn't want to start Pebbles and Blade until they matured more and showed the signs they were ready. The past month I have felt they were about ready to go and I cut that coon loose at dark and went and collared them up and cut them in his direction. Both hit the track and opened a few times but that was it. I let them hunt him for 15 minutes but they never barked up or got the trail lined out. I will take one at the time, once a week around a feeder by themselves and see if that will get them going. Might take one with Bo every now and then. Neither one impressed me tonight.
After fooling with Blade and Pebbles I put them up and loaded Bam and Bo in the box in the truck. I had to carry my 4 wheeler back to the shop yesterday it had a torn axle boot on the new axle they just replaced. He said axle is clicking so they replacing it again and covering it under warranty so won't cost me anything but bad news is I'm walking until they get it fixed and that will be a few more days. And Walking I did tonight. Cut them in Black Branch Swamp and they got gone quick and struck around 150yds and moved it on out toward that hog wire fence. Bo drifted on out ahead of Bam maybe 80yds when all of a sudden Bam fell treed and lit it up. I thought he was just hung up on that net wire but when I started to him Bo had fell back and covered and they had a Coon. Proud of my pup and loved him up good then led them a couple hundred yards deeper into the Swamp and unsnapped them again. They struck close to 300 and went the same way but was about 50yds apart working different tracks. Bo fell treed and Bam kept going. I got to Bo and he was on the edge of the Bad Stuff on a big water oak. I got out in the Bad Stuff and hacked me down some of the briars and scrub oak and made a opening where I could get my light on the tree and first hit of the squaller he looked at me with both eyes. I petted him up and led him away from the tree and Bam was over 300yds from us but making a swing back our way and had his track going good. I cut Bo to him and half way there Bo bawled twice and fell treed blowing it out. Bam trailed on into him and backed him and they had that Coon to up a Magnolia Tree. I think Bo intercepted the Coon Bam had going and stole it from him but that's ok. They looked pretty good tonight. I was drenched time I got back to the truck. It is Summer time in South Mississippi and its Very Humid. We will go again tomorrow, maybe try the boat ride down river and see if we can tree a couple, Good Hunting!

Bo and Bam
Steve sounds like you got ole Bo and Bam clicking. sounds like Bam is getting better all the time. I,m sorry about your 4-wheeler. I know how it is when they are down.
4 wheeler
Thanks Mr. Jack. I got lucky on the 4 wheeler, they called at 12 noon today and said it was ready. They didn't think the axle would come in until tomorrow or Friday but UPS showed up with it this morning. I just got back from picking it up and the best part was it didn't cost me a dime. The front has moved in and the humidity has dropped a lot as I'm sure you've noticed today. Supposed to be 65 tonight which is pretty cool for us in June. Coon should stir good and me and Bo will try to put them up a tree. Take Care.

BO and BAM
Took them to Haunted House Bottom and cut them down the creek. Bo went slightly left and Bam to the right. Bam got struck and started working a track and Bo got deep and near an over grown field and hit a hot running track and he poured it on that coon through the briars they went. He got hooked at 699 yards and was on a big cottonwood but to thick around it to shine u it. Hooked him up and started back and Bam was treed in the swamp. We get in within 30 yards or so of Bam and I'm kind of looking ahead to see what he's treed on and was walking through swamp muck, a little water, cypress knees and clumps of water grass. A big Cotton Mouth came off a clump just to the right of my feet right on top of my feet. I jerked Bo back high stepping hollering and kicking. I kicked him out a few feet in front of me but he came hauling butt back right at me and before I could kick or jump he shot between my legs going behind me. I spun around trying to get the clip for the rifle out of my pocket but he got gone quick. I think I scared him enough with my Snake Dance he will probably shed his skin tonight! It all happened so fast and it was sure a close call. I don't keep my clip in my rifle because getting through these thickets around here I'm always bumping the lever that drops the clip out and losing them. Bam was treed on a Cypress in water and Bo went to winding and Blowing walking on his hind legs so I knew Bam had the Coon but I could never get him to look. We been on a good streak finding them lately but tonight we were 0 for 2. We made our way back to the 4 wheeler and eased on home.

SINKER CYPRESS TURKEY CALL
This is a Custom Made Turkey Call out of my Sinker Cypress by a guy in PA. I received this today and was in awe. It is Incredible Craftsmanship and just Beautiful. It has a medium soft mellow tone that sounds killer doing Clucks, Purrs and Yelps. Best sounding turkey call I have ever heard. Priceless Treasure to me that will be handed down to my Grandson. But before that happens I'm sure there is some Ole Boss Gobblers that will be called up to Mason and Levi's Gun!

THE HUNT
Beverly, Mason and I took BO to the UKC HUNT in Bogue Chitto Mississippi last night. My Uncle Mel, who is in the picture and 78 years old met us there. He Coon Hunted with Blue Hounds 40 years ago but got into Rabbit Hunting and the past few years he hasn't had a dog at all. Age gets us all. As far as I know he hasn't been to a Hunt in all those years until last night and GOD smiled down on THE OLD COONHUNTER because we drew out with a cast hunting land that joined my Uncles land so he got to follow us back to his house and listen to the hounds from the porch. The first drop they hit a screaming hot track with BO getting 2nd strike and first tree. They treed within 20 yards of my Uncle's back yard and he got to walk into the tree and see the hounds a hammering. I was proud for him because I know in his mind he was reliving the hunts of his past in that moment. Big Cedar Tree that was tall and we couldn't see the top or find the coon. The tree is the one my light is on with Mason in the picture. We cut them again and the hunt went downhill from there even though we were climbing up hill, a lot. Mason dropped his light and the head and bracket broke off the bump cap. So he couldn't wear it swinging and hitting his face so I broke the battery off the back of it so maybe he could tote it and that wasn't working. A hound got treed a half mile away and the cast took off and after a few minutes of up and down a hill with another big hill in front of me carrying Mason and the cast nowhere in sight Mason started crying. I asked him what was wrong and he said we are lost. I assured him we weren't lost. Looking at Garmin BO was almost 800 yards behind us and across the road from where we turned loose, only about 200 yards from the truck so I headed us that way. We got started good and I heard someone hollering that had come back looking for us and I hollered back we withdrew. We waited at the truck until the cast came back so I could sign the Scorecard but it was a dead cast. They said they walked their butts off. The woods was beautiful woods, the nicest you could ask for but my little buddy just isn't ready for these hunts and after thinking about it with it being as hot as it is and handlers wanting to get to their hounds as quick as possible and score the tree so they don't overheat its kind of inconsiderate on my part to slow them down trying to bring Mason along. I didn't like that we got left behind but I understand. Mason and I will just have to go when all kids hunt and its about them instead of trying to get him involved with the grownup cast right now. Glad my Uncle got to visit with guys he knew from the past like MR. Don Morgan and MR. Harold Dillon and others I can't remember. Real nice Club with Great Members that made you feel welcome and want to come back. I can see Mason and I making many trips to this club in the future.

The hunt. Kids and Ole folks
Steve, sure sorry that Mason's first competition hunt wasn't an enjoyable one, at least for the hunting part. I'm glad your Uncle Mel got to go and had a good time. I wish I would have been there and got to meet him, Maybe later.
HUNTS
Thanks Mr. Jack. He's just to young for me to bring to the hunts but he wants to go so bad I hate to tell him no. So when he is at the house for the weekends we will just pleasure hunt these swamps. Not gonna leave him at home again while I go to a hunt. Best times are had when your toting a rifle and not a pencil anyhow.
