Wendy and Anne, Wendy is out of Haze and Willow, Anne is out of Moose and Penny. Willow is a full sister to Moose. Moose is a half brother to Haze, and Penny is a half sister to Haze. Good breeding really helps.

Haze has all the history behind him that will support his potential as a reproducer and he already has pups on the ground that are early starters and showing very good ability at under a year of age.

I know a little bit about the potential contained in his history...don't overlook this hound to match to your good females, he's got what it takes to produce top hounds from top to bottom and that's worth investing in.

HTX

Ole haze did a nice job tonight at his third htx hunt. Coons weren't moving to good when we cut him. After he hunted hard for almost 40 minutes he finally struck and moved the track and came treed. He had two coons. He got treed before the hour was up but it had expired once we shined the tree. So, he passed his third hunt test with flying colors. This finished his htx title. Nice job old boy!

Haze/Faith pups got to be on their first drag today. They did pretty good. Pics aren't that great. Had two older dogs for lead dogs to help them out. The pups are only 4 months old.

Tuff on right and Scout on left

Scout on the wood with Hazel, Tuff on back side and Locket to the right

Scout is a female and Tuff is a male, both out of Haze and a Sandy Creek Jake and T-top Lexus female named Faith. I was pretty happy with the results today. They are only 4 months old so I really won't place any expectation on them to perform, but it's nice when they start to light up that early. At this point they just need time to get older and I will give them some limited exposure now that they have showed aggression toward a coon. Time will tell but I like their actions so far.

Haze has bred Nova 3 times now, litter will be performanced and superstaked. Contact Johnny Davis, numbers above.

Thanks buck for posting the pic.
I really like these two pups. Their aggression toward the desired game went up about 5 notches saturday evening. I like seeing that progression from one week to the next. The next drag we do will be with one less older dog and then the 4th one we do will be with just the two pups. Once they get the hang of that, then we'll let them do the drags by themselves.....then it won't be long until they will go to the woods at night for the first time.

As our good friend T-Top Tom always says, "I love this time of year!!"

Well, hopefully after tomorrow I will be mostly mended up. Have a procedure in the morning at 10. Should be able to get back to the woods Thursday night. These pups are ready for more exposure, looking forward to watching them take their next steps. Should be a fun season for them.

I will have an older Haze male here soon that has never been messed with, we'll see if he will turn on with some exposure. If he does, we will be looking to get him into the right hands later this fall so he can be hunted. We will make sure he is showing what we want to see before we let him go.

I love this time of year. Sure is fun working pups.

Finally Back Huntin'

It was good to get back to the woods last night. Took Frog and her pup Addy.
First track went 1200 yards by the garmin and the second Frog left Addy behind and got struck on the mountain and that track went 500 yards.

Picked up a dead coon off the road Friday and did about a 200 yard drag with it for these haze/faith pups. Turned them loose alone to let them work. They struck the track and started moving it. I put a couple of sharp turns with the drag, it was fun to watch them work out the track. They had to use their brains to work it out. I followed at a distance without interfering. They both got to the base of the tree and at the same time ran their noses right up it and of course they came unglued announcing to the world they found the coon. I love seeing this type of potential at 5 months old. Are they started yet.......well, everyone has their opinion. All I know is that they know what a coon is, they know how to follow a track and are looking up when the track runs out. Our kill season opens in 20 minutes, maybe I should go.
