Slims Grand dams

Ginger was directly off of Dohoney's Boone and an open registered female called PR Sand Hills Jill's Echo.

Doll was a litter mate to Southern Pines Jet, they were off of Dual Grand Minkler's Kansas Dancer and Grnitech Skean's Dolly, who was direct off of Boone herself.

Everyone that knows anything about Skeans Dolly is that she was one of the best reproducers out there and Slim is triple Dolly bred, not too mention 2 shots of ole Jr. Slim is a nice made hound, tall, leggy put up right. Absolutely a beautiful dog. He has a huge mouth, takes his tracks as they come and runs em one way. He is very accurate and pretty much dominated the hunts up in Michigan when Lewis and Mike were campaigning him to Grnitech. He looks good anywhere you drop him too. We hunted a few nites down in Oklahoma in my country and he looked pretty impressive, he was about 15 months old at that time and we were hunting in a lot of water but he managed to put some ringtails up in a pretty quick fashion. Belly rubbing steady treedog. I like him, wish I owned him.

Not trying to correct you because I know you know a whole lot more about the Dohoney dogs than I ever will but my ped files show that Sand Hills Jill's Echo was out of Spring Creek Tee Gee and Cedar Run Jammin' Jill. Tee Gee was out of Spring Creek Dummy and Finley River Judy. Jill was out of Clifton's River Rock and Well's Singing Molly. Is this correct or have I seriously goofed?

You are absolutely correct! I just didnt go into where Echo came from like I should. Thanks for filling all that in I got in a hurry and didnt go into Gingers background as much as Doll's. I was just filling in where Slim's grandma's came from for Matt and I can use all the help I can get. lol I am by no means an expert, everything I know I found out from Mike Dohoney and how he keeps them all straight is beyond me but he can answer any question from 30 years ago without even having to pause to think about it. The man is wealth of Walker knowledge.

By all means if you guys catch me on something off, Please line me out. lol

lol I dont think I can go that far back without alot of assistance. That is way before my time, but if you tell me which dogs you want to know about I ll research it and find out.

Congratulations are in Order

To Mike and his young dog off of Diz, Bo, for finishing Nitech(3 1st's) on Friday nite with another 1st place win. That adds another nitech to Diz's p.a.d. and hopefully Bo will make Grnitech before too much longer. I know Mike is planning on pushing him pretty hard in PKC so we ll sit back and watch it happen.

Cash Creek Neurotic Nikki is gonna have some pups it looks like. She needs her 1st place to make nitech. We will finish her nitech title this fall and push her to Grnitech. Mike said she is getting pretty big now. Pups should be born the third week of June. If any of you guys want a nice pup off this cross you better get ahold of Mike and book one. I know the first 2 pick females are already booked. I ll post the pups pedigree below.

Hey Guys: I own the Dual Grand HV Rat Attack hound....Rats' Grandfather was GRNTCH DOSS HARDWOOD SPOT....His daddy was Grand Nite Ch Doss Hardwood Echo( Boone)....I'VE always stated that Rat took alot from the bottomside....Big-boned, cold nosed.........WE bred daughters of Echo to HV RAT and got two state chs'......I own another female (NTCH) whose grandmother was a Dual CH off of Echo......She is presently bred to Grand Nite CH Danny Boy.... Danny Boy is going to Lowell Boreen's to breed their females and to stand at stud there....A hidden agenda for me is to get danny bred to as much Boone-Blood as possible....Would love to have daughters of Hardwood Spot bred to Danny......Just wishful thinking, that blood is getting thin.....The NTCH HIDDEN VALLEY HIDE dog was triple boone bred I believe...

Grats on Rat making the top reproducers list and we are glad you dropped in to chat with us. Rat is a good looking sucker and noone has to wonder what he is throwing. Danny Boy should do good up at Lowell's. He is a pretty good fellar and I have enjoyed many hours of talking dogs with him over the years. In fact we bought our Nikki female, that is bred to Dizzy, from Lowell a couple of years ago.

There has only been one litter off of the Boone semen that I know of and noone has heard anything about how they turned out. A woman in Maine bought some semen to breed to one of her females and I think they are being run on big game and thats why noone has really heard anything out of them. Mike is holding on tight to what he has left for now.

It would be nice to see some of those old stud ads on Rock. He threw some really nice pups back in his day. I wish all of Mike's old pedigree's and paperwork hadnt been lost in that house fire he had several years ago, I would have been in hog heaven pilfering through those.

I'm kinda wondering about that too. If Walkerfied doesn't have an answer I may give Mike a call and get his thoughts. From what I've gathered from conversations with Mike in the past Slim is a super nice hound. If I'm not mistaken Slim has spent most of his life in Michigan, so maybe Mike hasn't pushed him just because of geography? Hard to say.

Guys Slim is 6. Mike gave half of Slim to a fellow in Michigan by the name of Lewis Bright in order for Slim to be finished out. At the time Mike was busy with Dizzy and wanted to make sure Slim had a shot to finish out too. All of the advertising and breeding is done through Lewis not Mike. He is now in Northern Indiana. Lewis relocated recently and he is in the La Grange area I think. I ll find out for sure the details. Make no mistake Slim is a coon dog. He has won everything that Lewis has entered him in. Word is he is throwing some super nice pups too, but I have never hunted with one. I have hunted with Slim though. He was started and hunted in Oklahoma by Darrel Trammel until he was about 2 y/o. I have seen the dog do some fantastic work in some rough conditions. He is a big red headed, blanket back dog with a super mouth. He is a tree huggin belly up tree dog too. I ll see if I can round up some pictures of Slim somewhere around here. If you have more questions give Lewis a call he should be more than happy to fill you in on everything, 269-816-1973.

I cant find but one pic of Slim that I have with me and it is from a distance so I ll see if I cant get some from Mike for you. I have some at home in Oklahoma, they are downloaded on my other computer.

I found a whole bunch of older pics from a few years ago. We ll see if any of you guys can name that dog and person for the heck of it.

We dont have a website anymore. I let it go under, took too much time to keep it up and honestly we sold more pups and started dogs by word of mouth than that website ever did. As far as pictures, most of my pics are on my computer in Oklahoma. I have a few uploaded on photobucket that I can put on here. We dont have any pics of our new females yet, but I will get some taken sometime this summer and get you some on here. Until then I ll put some on here off of my photobucket site of dogs we have had in the past. I hate being away from home, but the money sure is good!
