Dave

neat mount, its funny you guys talk about how small a 18 pound coon is and here in southwest Virginia if we knock out a 18 pounder we talk about it for weeks, or at least Buck does...LOL

David

Dave, I want to see their pictures in the Bloodlines magazine. When they are doing good, Tanya or Allen G. will take their picture.

Sorry

Sorry I didn't understand what you were looking for my friend. Have a great week end. Dave

Griz...

Just a quick update on Griz...he is looking 100% better and is like a new dog since starting treatment 11 days ago.

Dave has had him out a couple of times trying to keep it to just a couple of drops and he's holding up good with no real sign anymore of the Lymes knocking him down.

Also...a big thank you to Scott B for dropping EZ off here at T-Top. We'll take good care of her and give her an opportunity to make a dog Scott.

When I was mowing the big pen yesterday, Leinie and EZ were side-by-side and I had to really study them to sort them out...it's amazing how much they look like each other. I'm going to get some pictures of those two standing close to each other and you'll see what I mean. It's interesting how some of the traits will surface like that and if EZ will take to hunting coons like Leinie did...life will be good...eh?

I seen the similarties in them. I know they are both were they need to be. Wasn't doing EZ no good sitting here while I work thru my health issues. The new med seems to be better.
Them new vests you sell are the bomb.
I used mine last night. LOVED it!!! Just what I needed.
Did two drops last night. I pulled them from the first one at the road and second one they had the meat. They looked good.

Scott

Griz & Leinie

Dave went hunting a couple of times this week and took Leinie out for the first time in several months, along with Griz...

Griz and Leinie...looking good...on the wood...at least what's left of the wood

It's hard to forget this tree...eh?

Hopefully...there wasn't anyone sitting up there...

It's always pretty cool to make a tree like this...sticks with a person for awhile.

Leinie is getting back in shape a little at a time, it has been since last fall that she was out so it's good to see her get back at it.

Griz is looking better every day since we started treatment for Lymes and we'll hope we can get him in a couple of hunts soon.

Yes sir...you never know where that next hunt might be. If Griz keeps progressing to where he can handle the stress of being hauled long distances and also to be able to compete in the heat...by golly...we might give it a whirl. So far, it's looking like I might even be able to get away for a couple of days so I'm hoping to tag along for the ride.

Just make it a 2 day trip. Surely you know someone in Indiana where you could stop for the night. The last time I hunted in Holmesville it wasn't that hot.

46

Save some of that up for July Mark...I think I could navigate pretty well in that kind of weather.

I'll know in another week or so if I can make it, I'd look forward to visiting with you all.

Two pro handlers?? The "pro" in this handler is stuck somewhere down in one of these steep coulees Scott...we'd just be taking Griz because we've got a couple to bring back so we can't fill up the box too much...ya know...

Thanks for the "pro" reference though...I haven't looked at myself like that for a long time now...Dave is the only active pro in this Team...at the moment...

It looks like there are a couple more hounds out of Rabble that are "finally" going to be made Nt Ch's. I hear that there is another nice 3 yr old that will be hunted at Holmesville. Maybe Bo and Griz will get their picture taken.

Don't you have to actually be paid to qualify as a Pro? How much is Dave making?

Posted by raven on 06-14-2011 04:39 PM:

"Pro"

Scott- You got my plan figured out. We'll get him out there hunting in Holmesville one way or another. We'll stack the dogs like cord wood to get them back Leine's lookin' tough as an oak bark shingle. It does not take much for her to get back in shape. Beautiful weather lately, gets down to high 40s low 50s.

Richard-I get paid. Do you want to find out the details? I expect a bonus after Redbone Days

Tim,
Are you going to be at Holmesville? Always read the fine print cause I'll be rich after Redbone Days, ha, ha!!!

Topdog is the CEO of T-Top Incorporated. You will have to get the details from him on how I get paid. LOL

I love this weather and time of year. Bugs aren't bad, weather is decent, and dogs are doing a bang up job. Going out again from 10-2 or later tonight.
I'll get some pictures of the tree stripper(Griz) and his sidekick, Leinie.

Tim......I think these guys are plotting something I don't know about. On the other hand...if Leinie is getting in shape...she and I kind of see eye to eye on a lots of things

As long as she doesn't get treed more than 50 yards from the road...I'll probably be able to handle it...eh?

Dave has been putting the time on these hounds and both Leinie and Griz are starting to look hard as a rock like they do in the fall. Leinie is a nice female, she's got heart and is a great athlete and always a sweet disposition so she's easy to get to like in the woods. Griz will have his distractions removed tomorrow so it will be all back to business for him. He and Yank both had a little excitement over this last week and a half so hopefully, there will be some nice pups on the ground in the next couple of months out of some good line crosses. We'll see what shapes up...

I will be staying home, picking up beer cans along the roadway. Of course, I could start out now and work my way to Ohio.

Last night...

Dave took Griz and Leinie out again last night...these are good pictures and every time I see something like this...it brings old Rocky back to life for me. I walked to many a tree that looked like what Griz does. Rock would take a piece out of an old oak but he'd kill a box elder or any other soft wood tree...Griz reminds me a lot of that old dog...

This is Griz on one of the trees they made last night...

This is one side of the second tree they made...

This is the other side of that same tree...

This coon was close enough to almost reach up and shake out...

Dave said that there was so much racket on that little tree that the next move that coon made was to jump out and head for the hills...he said he was glad the dogs didn't see him go and he got them rounded up before they could get wind of it.

These two dogs are making a pretty good pair and they know how to get a coon treed in style.

I keep making reference to how Griz reminds me of old Rock from back in the days. He has a lot of the same characteristics...Rock was one of the best hide dogs I've ever had the chance to follow. Griz isn't as hard headed as old Rocky was but he sure gets after a tree the same way...

Here is a picture of Wicked Wilson, a Rabble Grandpup, after only 5 minutes on a tree. Wilson trees so hard that he has to do something or he would pass out. I guess that he comes by it honestly.

I also heard that the details are being worked out on a new contract that would send a Rabble offspring up your way to be gotten ready for and hunted at the UKC World Championship. I think that this new partnership will be a great deal. The last I heard, the contract is ready to go to the lawyers to be looked over but hasn't been signed yet.
