Tuff and Stella

Turned these two pups loose on a hot track tonight. They just turned 6 months old yesterday. Did a nice job. This was stella's first trip to the woods at night and Tuff's second trip. They treed this one all by themselves. Good potential right here.
I wished I could have taken a pic at the tree but I didn't want to let them get played out. Then, I struggled getting the coon out....when he did come out, he was ready to fight. The pups never realized til tonight that the coon bites back.

Stella did a nice job tonight with her sister Frog Dawg. She just turned 7 months yesterday. Frog and Stella made two trees tonight.....one den and one with the meat on the outside. Stella got first strike on Frog on the second tree and she treed very good. She isn't far from being hunted by herself. A few more good tracks and trees and she will be going solo for a while.

To bad I forgot the camera at home. Stella is going to be photogenic just like Frog is.

Took a couple of teenagers and one of their dads for a hunt last night. It has become a thanksgiving tradition now to take kids to the woods on thanksgiving night. Temp was in the low twenties but it was nice. Frog and her sister.....Stella ( mule) went 700 yards in the mountain before getting struck. We had a hard time hearing them since they were over a few ridges but we could tell when they got treed. We finally got to them and they had the meat. Turned out pretty good. Glad our deer season will be over after tomorrow so things can get back to normal and we can hunt a few more spots. Got a few pics of the dogs treeing and will try to load them later.

My dad and I loaded up haze, frog and Stella and went to national forest tonight. We road hunted haze in hopes to get a hot track for the pup. Haze roaded 5 miles before he struck.....it wasn't a good track but we turned frog and Stella in on it and they all did a nice job on it. They ended up getting treed in a monster pine tree. They had the coon but my scope was fogged up with the pouring rain and I just couldn't see well enough to hit him. So, I had to leave him.

About 20 minutes later we got a good hot track and they treed this one about 80 yards off the road. Another big pine but I got a bullet close enough to make him run down just above the dogs. He turned to go back up so I actually hit him and out he came. Stella did nice on that one. No pictures tonight as it was raining to hard.

My dad had a pretty good time considering he never had to get out of the truck (buck would have been proud). He heard all the action.

Here is Nick with two of the five coons we treed last night. We had a 6 month old Haze pup with us but I did not get any good pictures. Pastor Mike took some of him he may post later today.
