Supposed to be in the 40's today. The sun is trying to shine. Chuck's nephew called about 5 am to let us know that his mom (Chuck's) wasn't doing well. She started with hospice last week and hasn't been eating or drinking for 2 wks. She just turned 96 and they're 68th wedding anniversary was the 14th. His dad is falling apart. I'm gonna get animals taken care of and head down.
hoping for the best for you all ,Ridge.

Thanks guys, she's still hanging on. Hospice is coming everyday now.
We took the dogs out tonight, one at a time so we didn't have them going different directions. Ruby was first, she treed in about 5 minutes after Chuck let her off the leash. We brought it home. She treed a 2nd time up a big pine, we couldn't find it.
Dandy was 2nd, he treed twice, brought them both home. Then took Jake out. We took him to the same place (a field above our house) we had Ruby earlier. He didn't find anything. Next time we go out, we'll take him first.
Hey a bad night of huntin beats a good day at work got 36 degrees this mornin.
Sorry to hear that Ridge.
Took the hound out with a local guy with a good reputation last Saturday night. He looked like an All-Star. I didn't think he would be so sharp being his first time out in a couple weeks. Slammed the first one a little over 100 yrds from us. Second tree was slick but there were two coon in a tree 20 yards from him. Third was a good track and one of the biggest coon I've seen. Had to be close to 20lbs. Man with nobody hunting or trapping them they sure are getting big out there. Sure would be nice if the fur market could rebound then I wouldn't need this job! Ha

Good news Nate biggest coon I ever got was an old boar 25 lbs. a set of seeds on him as big as walnuts. It makes a guy feel good when his hound does a good job like that.
Rain this mornin & 48 degrees,I'll bet last night would of been a good time to tree coons.
I talked to Ealy last night,he is about to brust waiting for tomorrow morning, said he had his truck fueled up,4 wheeler fueled up, loaded in the truck,he shot all his guns atleast 300 times....I feel for any deer that walks out in front of him tomorrow morning.....

My knees hurt too bad to go out last night. We got 3 coon on Monday, 1 on Tuesday and 0 last night. Hope to go tonight if it's not to windy or rains too hard. Don't know where we can sell them . We've been selling to NAFA the last few years. The bounced a ck that was for a small bobcat and a nice coon. I called and was told to wait until next month. Now we heard they're bankrupt. It wasn't bad enough they stole our fur, but the bank charged us for the bounced check, too 😥
