Buck said that he had to stay home to take care of and start training his new pups. He has a picture of 3 week old King Kong treeing on the "Look At What Holds" post. He must really be doing good with Tom's "laying the foundation" tips.

Hey Tom

This is Little Man he is the runt of the litter. 60 bark's a min but he may be a sit down tree dawg. Not bad for three week old pup

King Kong is getting after it too.

Pictures

Those are great pictures of the little guys Buck, I can see they're ready to start treeing already so...won't be long now...eh?

Dave was out last night and took Griz and Bo for their initial run together...he had a pretty good night and some decent dog work for them being together for the first time.

On this first tree, he turned loose in an abandoned farm yard and he says they took off, swung around and treed right in the yard not far from the truck...Dave thought they must be crazy but there was a coon there.

The last tree of the night was made below our place on a spring ditch. They drove it into a corn field and down the whole length of it and came treed hard...they were blowing this down...he likes these dogs...

What they couldn't blow down...Griz was doing his best to chew down...gotta get the coon somehow...eh?

Dave had about 15 pictures from last night and they were all keepers. The dogs got along real well and were very VERY intense on these trees...good stuff. There's a little ways to go yet but it sure looks like it should be a fun rest of the summer.

Performance Sire's Sire

I was thumbing through my last bloodlines and was looking at the Redbone Performance Sire list. Doc is the sire of 8 males on the list and Rabble came in second with 7 males on the list. I know that being on the list, doesn't neccessarily mean they are reproducing, but it was interesting to look and see who the dogs are out of.

Hussler

Hey Tom Hussler finally made his first split tree and stayed till i got there about 20min. All in all he's doing purdy good.

They were treed about 10yds apart. As you can see this is all cut over timber. Very rough.

All right Tom, how did y'all do in the competition hunts this week end? (You don't think that I am just going to go away, do you?)

No hunts this weekend Richard...we had some of my wife's family here from South Dakota and Minnesota and some other places so Dave and I were both tied to that. Also, I've been battling some severe headaches since we got back from National Days and it's killing me. I think that today is the first day since we got back that I can actually function so hopefully, what ever I'm battling is starting to get knocked out. Dave and family went on vacation starting today so there's going to be a lull in the action for a little while. There isn't much for hunts in July around here but come August, September and October, we'll have hunts every weekend for the most part...and then we'll put the time on them.

As far as thinking you'd go away...I know better than that...it's going to be interesting to see how it all shapes up and works out in the end...eh?

Hussler

Tim I am proud of the way Hussler is doing and I am sure pleased with the way you are keeping the Ace pups in the woods. Nice picture. I bought another female this week end. She has a lot of the best of Hoffmeister's and a shot of Zack in her. She is out of Willie top and the Bottom has some of the best reproducing females in the Breed. Dave

Oh my goodness, y'all were only around those Va Cartel boys for 3 days and just listen to those excuses rolling out! You have enough for a whole month. What if Buck had said "It's too hot" Sat night? He knows how to get-er-done. I will have to get him to call you on Thursday with a pep talk. There is a RQE in Valders, Wi this Sat night. I'll bet that Joe and Deuce will be there while you are kicked back on that couch watching TV.

Dave, this is what you get when you cross Zack with T-Top.

Richard that's what the male looks like the female will be bred to, to see if we can get that same picture in the end you have there. He is out of T-Top Yank. Dave

Tom, get well soon

Too many days had passed without Tom on board. I knew something was up. I called Tom yesterday. He sounded terrible. He thinks it is Lyme. He has started treatment and hopes it will start to kick in soon. In the mean time, losts of rest is in store.

Update

It's been awhile since I've been on here but Dave has been getting Griz and Bo out and about now and then so I thought I'd catch up on a few photos that he managed to get...

Griz is looking good...

This is Bo on the wood...

These guys look real good together...

It's gonna get hot over the next week so we won't put the dogs in a tough spot at night. It will be cooler overnight towards the end of this coming week so we'll get them back at it when it's fit to be out.

I sympathize greatly with anyone who has had to battle Lymes, this has been and it continues to be the worst I've ever felt for an extended period of time...I'm on antibiotics and I'm hoping they start kickinig in soon. I appreciate the well wishes I've received, it helps deal with it for sure.

I had heard that another top dog in Wisconsin had contracted Lymes. I didn't realize that they were talking about Tom! How long is the normal recuperation time?

They told me that when I started the antibiotics, I'd maybe feel worse for a few days before I started feeling better. After the inititial jolt, they said I'd start feeling a lot better fast but that I needed to stay on the pills for a minimum of 21 days so...that's what I'm gonna do.

They're still doing a lot of digging because the Lymes test came back negative but there's something not right and most of the symptoms point to Lymes so...here I am.

I always feel good so this is really killing me...can't be out in the sun while on the medication, don't feel good when I sit and I don't feel good when I stand...at least I can sleep like a rock...I'll keep plugging along until I get better or until they tell me there's something else wrong and I've gotta start over.
