Carl, I would love to still be able to hunt wisconsin, snow or no snow. I wish we had the coon population you guys have but the fact is we just don't. Nice pics......looks like a nice young male out of chance.

I guess I will be hitting the woods again tonight taking each pup out alone again. I really start getting pumped up when they start doing it by themselves at these pups age. Hopefully one or both can get a decent track. We'll see I guess.

Tuff, the male pups second solo hunt

Well, tonight I took my male pup out of Haze/Faith out for his second solo hunt. The first place I went to drop him turned out to be a bust.....I didn't realize how much rain we got late saturday night and Sunday cause the creek I had to cross was out of it's banks so we couldn't cross over. So, on to plan B. Went to a different spot. Tuff struck what seemed to be a pretty good track, ran it....located the tree and had the coon. Now, stupid me totally forgot my camera that I had placed on the couch so I would see it before I went out the door but I guess that didn't help. I got a pic or two on my phone but they didn't turn out to well. Maybe later this week I can get one of him. Tuff found out again that those coon can bite back. Anyway, that's two 8 month old littermates that have treed their own coon by themselves within three days of each other. Not a bad start at all.

Thanks Dave, Happy New Year to you too. The pups are doing well.....they are still just pups but are showing very nice potential for their age. I have to remind myself that they are just 8 months so I don't let my expectations go beyond what they are willing or able to give, seems like a good friend of ours would mention that from time to time.

Hope you are doing well.

Too cold???

How cold was it down your way? We only hit -16 here in Iowa. Supposed to be a lot warmer this weekend. If all goes well, want to get out some. Happy New Year and keep posting pics and your adventures. Gives me something to do on a too cold night. Jamie

Hi Jamie, hope all is well with you and your family.

It got down to -4 here with 35mph winds. That's brutal for us. A few of my water pipes froze up so I took care of all of that yesterday. I should be able to hunt some after church tomorrow night....but now they are saying we are going to get rain this friday and saturday........geez.....just can't win.

Hope Kit is doing well.

Unfortunately it's not been a good few months. In October we found out dad has end stage cancer. Tried chemo and radiation. No luck. He is on the down hill side of his battle. Have not gotten out as much as wanted to but when we did was a blast. Temps up here warming but not sure I can get away to run dogs. Take care and good hunting. Jamie

That's great Carlos. Mine are doing well too, already treeing coon by themselves......I think they will be 9 months on the 20th, not bad for their age. Faith raised 4 pups in that litter, so that is 3 that are going to make coondogs, haven't heard anything about the last pup nor do I know who owns her.

These Haze pups are sure making there mark. They are young starting smart acting dogs with lots natural ability. This trait is even being carried from one generation to the next, even his grandpups. I know of at least 4 Grandpups that are cooncrazy at 7 months olds. I think this trait of ole Haze is going to be great for the redbone world for generations to come.

I sure hope so. I just heard from a nice young man in North Carolina who is hunting a haze female that is ready for competition. Her mother is fireball bred. I wish him the best with her.

Hope all is well im sure you guys are getting ready for National Days, I was just trying to catch up on all the Haze news. I haven't been out of the house I had to have back surgery on the 9th I will be down for several more weeks hope all is well.

Well, there is one less boar coon here in the mountains of Virginia thanks to two haze females.....the frog dawg and her 9 month old sister. It was a 900 yard walk from the truck, but it was worth it. The haze/faith pup did real nice. Treed hard the whole time I was walking in. I will try and post some pics tomorrow.

How much snow did you guys get up your way , we got about 6 or 7 inch up here and Its noon and the temp is only 5 degrees. Those pups are really clicking

Just a dusting of snow, nothing like what they were predicting. It was about 5 degrees this morning but it's probably in the upper teens now. the snow is almost gone where the sun is hitting. Shouldn't hurt us being able to go hunting. May be putting the female pup in a hunt saturday....we'll see how it goes.
