i'm pretty sure i know what made boone a reproducer, he gets it from his sires side, dohoney's MIKE. i hunted mike as a young dog. mike came from gene rowlands, which turned into oliver close's breeding. and boone came off of dohoney's mike which i'm pretty sure was off of buckeye ranger and he was off of the old hickory nut harry and morgans penny. mike had yellow ukc papers, which meant that he was inbred. oliver close had a litter mate female to mike that he would'nt let go. they both had hickory nut harry and morgans penny both top and bottom. harry and penny threw COONDOGS !!! mike's mother's pedigree was all COONDOGS!!!

Buckeye Ranger was off of Hickory Nut Harry and Ball's Rose. Buckeye Lucky was off of Hickeory Nut Harry and Morgans Penny. The Penny Harry cross is considered by many tobe one of the best crosses ever made on Harry.

you're right, it's been a long time. ranger was off of harry and rose. oliver close had all those females,ohio diamond (harry & morgans penny), buckeye kitty, lucky, kate, penny, molly (dohoney's mike's littermate sister). ranger and all those females came from mr. gene rowland who moved from our area to minnisota, those were the best bred harry females, and coondogs barr none. i had a female out of hickory hill jack and the kitty female, which she (kitty) went back to harry, hardwood henry and ironwood slim. i think henry was harry's brother and slim was their uncle. but the female i had was the most pull pressure treedog and would blast off the tailgate and you'd get her off a tree somewhere !!!

well hobo, i've been tryin to get to my old papers and i can't find them, but i'll tell you what i rememder. BOONE'S father was DOHONEY'S MIKE, MIKE was out of ROWLAND'S BUCKEYE RANGER, RANGER was out of BALL'S HICKORY NUT HARRY and BALL'S ROSE. HICKORY NUT HARRY was out of MERCHANT'S BAWLING BARNEY and BALL'S CANDY. MERCHANT'S BAWLING BARNEY was out of BALL'S CHIEF and BALL'S CHIEF was out of HOUSES BAWLIE and KANSAS BABE. i'll need to look more on what BALL'S ROSE and BALL'S CANDY was out of. DOHONEY'S MIKE'S mother was ROWLAND'S BUCKEYE LUCKY, LUCKY was out of BALL'S HICKORY NUT HARRY and MORGAN'S PENNY, again, HICKORY NUT HARRY was out of BAWLING BARNEY and BALL'S CANDY. MORGAN'S PENNY was out of NORMAN'S COONSTOPPER and CYPRESS CREEK BUELAH. ROWLAND'S BUCKEYE LUCKY and ROWLAND'S OHIO DIAMOND was littermate sisters. i'm pretty sure BOONE'S mother went back to one of Gidding's SACKETT DOGS, which is about the same breeding as DOHONEY'S MIKE, i'm not sure though. i'll let you know more later. BOONE has some of the BEST walker blood that has ever put in a hound i would think.

it's been a long time, but yes. i've hunted with old harry in shepperd, texas, lucky, diamond,penny, molly(dohoney's mike's sister), kitty, kate, penny, ranger, dohoney's mike. we had mike here until he went to mike dohoney. plus alot of young dogs out of close's hickory hill jack and ohio diamond, lucky, penny, kitty, kate and other females bred the same way. gene rowland gave all those females to oliver when he (gene) moved to minnasota, i hunted dogs for oliver back then. HICKORY HILL JACK and ALL those FEMALES threw COONDOGS !!! call me sometime, i'm here until dark, 419-496-2647

I know where this male is. He's getting up in age and I hope the guy is able to breed him soon. This is one of the closest to Boone I have seen lately.
