Bo and Bob

Sounds like Bo And Bob are doing mighty good Steve. You have done a good job with them. They will get that white coon one night.

BO and BOB

Had a great day of Fishing and night of Fishing and Coon Hunting. So far we have 8 fine Catfish in the Old Cast Iron Tub and me and Snow still up re baiting lines every couple hours. We took Bo and Bob to Bo's Bottom and cut them into the Swamp Bottom. I wasn't looking at a stop watch but Snow said from the time we cut them until they were treed with the Coon 371 yards across the Rugged Swamp couldn't have been longer than 3 minutes. I agreed. Bob struck first at 260 followed by Bo then Bob hit a tree but Bo left out scorching the track and took Bob with him and they hit the tree together. They sounded awesome together! Been a while since I cut both of them and I have missed it. Found the Coon high in the water oak and put him down to them. On way back to the Rhino to go make another drop my right foot caught under a vine and snatched my bad hip back and twisted my lower back and that set off the Muscle Spasms. Came home and got rubbed down with Horse Lineament and took some meds and it's eased off now. Bo and Bob have a Double Date next week with a couple of Good Looking Dual Grand's and me and Mason can't wait to get our female pup out of each litter so we can have fun with them in the River this Summer while they grow up. I had burned out on pups but still miss having one around watching it develop and I'm still wanting to get a nice young one that I would like to work out for us because Ole Stormy is Old. It really means a LOT having these guys bring gyps of this Quality to these two hounds here on the River. They have hunted with Bob and Bo and one of them has seen what Bo's pups out of Stormy are doing and several from that litter can't be bought. I would Love to have Titles on Both these hounds and I have plans for that soon but to have them breed to them because of what they have Seen firsthand that these two hounds can do means the World to me. One of the gyps is already here and the other is coming next week and looks like both will be ready to breed about Thursday. Hoping they both get Big, Healthy Litters in May. Great time of year to have pups cause it won't be to hot yet. Looking forward to next Fall and working with a couple of Young Guns Again!

BO

Down to just me and Bo right now. Bob got picked up today for his date later this week and will possibly get hunted some while there which puts me and my Buddy back in the woods every night which I will enjoy and I'm sure Ole Bo will too. Took him to Bo's Bottom and he did what he's been doing here lately: Flew in there deep, got struck and moved it quick back my way, the coon took to the Beaver Pond with Bo Hot on his tail and they swam across the whole thing which is probably 150 yards or more of log, tree, stump and grass infested water. Came out on the North side and slammed the Big Oak. I shook vines and blew the squaller and he never looked from the Knarly Hiding Spot he was in but I found him with the bright light and put the Big Boar down to Bo. Wasn't far from the Rhino so packed him out so Beverly could get a picture of me and my favorite hound with the Boar Coon before season ends tomorrow night. Going to get my Buddy back in shape and hit a few hunts soon. He's looking to good to stay at Home.

ANN

Thanks Gary. This is Ann owned by Darren Williams better known as Sleepy. She will be bred to Bo this weekend. She is a Gr. Nt. Ch. and only lacks a few points on the bench to be a Gr. Ch. He talked like he would work on finishing her out before the Pups get here. She is a fine hound and is bragged about by all who has hunted with her including me. Mason and I will get a female pup from this cross and also from Mr. Jack's Sheba gyp that he is breeding to Bob. Two fine crosses that will surely have some Coon Hounds coming from both litters. Fun summer playing with the pups along the River then the work will start in the Fall watching them develop into Cooner's.

Heikki, I sent you a PM back, Thanks.

GOOD LOOKING HOUNDS

Thanks Heikki, and you also have a fine looking young hound with a great future ahead. Good Luck with your hounds also and enjoy every moment with them you can because they get old quicker than we do. This Summer Bo will be 4 years old. Hard to believe that much time has passed already. I love looking back on this thread and all the memories that I have made with him and others I've had. Hope to cross paths with you one day and have a good visit and hunt in those WV Hills and hollers, Take Care.

Sleepy will get Ann back today as Bo has took care of Business Friday evening and this morning. Bob also got his business took care of over at Mr. Jacks with Sheba. Hopefully they get 2 nice, healthy litter of pups and from our 2 females Mason and I will get the young female with the ability, mouth and looks that I have been searching for.

Health

Thanks Mr. Jack. I enjoyed our hunt the other night and so did Mason. Beverly had her surgery today where they took out a couple of disc in her neck and put in the Titanium Plate. All went well and she is in her room now and we will be here a couple of days. She's in a great deal of pain but only time will heal that and everyone here in the hospital are doing all they can to try and make her comfortable. Will talk to you soon.

Beverly and The Bluebook

Thanks Tommy, we made it home from the Hospital this evening. Beverly is in a good bit of pain but moving around good and don't have to be waited on for everything but I would sure do it if she needed me to. I had myself prepared for helping her get up off the couch or whatever but she's doing fine with that. Her throat is bad sore but she's eating fair and should get better everyday. I'm setting here wondering if I should break the news to her that I'm Coon Hunting tonight since she's doing so good or wait another night and not push my luck, lol!

I found a Neurosurgeon and Snow is making me appointment tomorrow so I will be going for that and getting MRI soon, Finally! Don't know if he can do anything for me but we will soon see.

Got the BBCHA Bluebook today and ALL INVOLVED did a Fantastic Job!! I have just took a quick look through it but it is full of stories, history and Ad's of our Beloved Blue Hounds. Looks great!

Wish you well

Hi Steve ! I don't know you but we did meet at Bluetick days last year . I just want to tell you I really enjoy your post and the great pictures . I know what it's like to have back trouble . If someone hasn't had it I don't know if they can really know how it effects your life . The good news is I had back surgery in 1997 and been pretty good since. I hope all works out for you and you fully recover and can do the things you love .I look forward to reading your post and seeing your pictures . Your love for your family ,home , and hounds is awesome .Take care . Wayne

Hunting

Thanks Wayne. I remember meeting you. Yaw were in the cabin to the right before you got to the one we were staying in. Wish we would have had time to visit longer. I'm hoping that when I get the MRI that he can do surgery and I get rid of the pain and being hobbled. If not I will just have to accept my condition and do what I can and leave the rest alone. And your right, if you've never had Back Trouble it is hard to understand how it affects not only the things you do and being painful just getting around or riding somewhere but also your MOOD. It can get you frustrated, depressed, short of patience, ect. if you let it. I didn't hunt last night I stayed home with Beverly but tonight Snow and his wife Kim are coming out to stay the weekend so Beverly will have someone to help her with anything she needs while we hunt. Snow is a Doctor and his Wife Kim is a Nurse Practitioner so she will be in good hands. The River is up about a foot and a little muddy so we will bait the lines before we head downriver in the Jet Boat to cut Bob and Bo loose. Going to bring our fishing gear and some Night Crawlers and do some tight lining on bottom until the hounds tree. If your ever coming this way headed to a hunt or if you want to take a road trip and pleasure hunt with me your welcome anytime. Take Care.

BO and BOB

Bo and Bob treed on a Big Gum with the Coon tonight. Snow and I baited the lines then took them for a hunt. Hit a good track and treed over 500 yards from where we sat on a high Hog Back Ridge about 80' above the Swamp Bottom. They sounded good off in the distance Hammering that tree. Felt like I was committing a Crime when I snapped them up and pulled them off.

WARM WEATHER

Thanks Scott! Hopefully yaw will get some warmer weather soon. That was a pretty picture of your pond and all that Snow. We set a few lines last night and like I had said the River looked Perfect for catching fish and it was. This is the biggest one we caught. A 25lb. Flathead on a Bamboo Pole shoved in the bank and out over a deep calm hole of River Water with live bait. We caught a lot more smaller Catfish, Bass, Bream and Carp. Rain has moved in but we just got off the River and have 9 lines baited with small Catfish and Bream so should catch a lot more this evening and tonight before cold front moves in. Also found this Big Sinker Cypress that Snow is standing by. It's half mile upriver from the house and the River is changing course and last flood it washed it out of the Sandbar where it's been buried for 100's of years. I see More Back Trouble in my Near Future, lol!

SMILIN BOB

Took Bob to Bo's Bottom and cut him from the top of Hog Back Ridge down the steep hill into the Swamp Bottom. He struck a little over 200 hundred yards in and moved it on away from me then fell treed. Tonight it was very cool and his treeing just echoed all around that Swamp. He was treed on top of an Indian Mound that Bo has treed on before. It's a steep hill that is shaped like a huge funnel turned upside down and level on top. It just rises up from the Swamp Bottom all around and as I clawed my way to the top there were Beautiful Ferns growing all over the steep hill. Bob was on this Magnolia and the Coon was almost in the very top. I petted him up and we carefully made our way back down from the Indian Mound. Headed home the Big Moon was coming up and it was a deep Orange color. One of those special nights that stick in your memory.
