Apparently someone is very sensitive. My comment was based on a previous cross between Sam and a rouser bred female. Who said anything about you or your dog's? I have hunted with btk just fyi. A man in Missouri owned him if you'll remember. This post is about Sam and his pups and not anything involving you or your dog's.

I have hunted with Sammy and also several dog out of him including the Gr.Nt. female out of him and I bred my Breanna female to Jet who is a llitter mate to Sammy. He is a good choice and he is from a great cross and is bred to be a good reproducer.
Congrats to Sammy and Brian on their win at PKC redbone days as well.

Its not that hard to see....you can't make a statement that one cross is better than another without knowing what both are....at least no credible person would do such a thing.

Whatever Preston.....if your going to say that one cross would be better than another while at the same time saying you don't know what the other cross is....how do you think most people will take that? Its your call if you want to make a statement like that....but don't get upset when someone points out that doing such a thing doesn't make much sense to most reasonable people. This Post is about Sammy and I congratulated him on his recent win and the upcoming cross on Zoe and I did it without insulting any other breeders or their dogs....just like you recommended in the post you made yesterday.....

Has an outstanding reputation in the hunts and in the stud pen. Folks need to breed to him. He is a winner and a reproducer. Sam is a good one and Brian is a nice guy congrats again on a job well done

Thanks Brent, I am glad you guys like the Outlaw Blood as well since Sammy and Burning Pepper, Pepper Ann, Rocky top Jet are all out of a grand daughter to Outlaw Billy the Kid. None of them would even be here if some guys with that female had not decided to breed her to Lil Pepper. I love seeing all these Pepper bred dogs that go back to Billy winning in the hunts these days. Guess that's what you get when people work together. Sammy is a great choice for people to line breed their outlaw blood females to keep those outlaw traits strong and add some of the traits from pepper. If it worked to create one of the best crosses in the breed....it should work to go back to for more success.

.....for the record, the only dog I have with pepper blood is B.J. and she is out of Billy and Amber so she is line bred Billy top and bottom and is a great grand daughter to Lil Pepper just like Sammy is a great grand son to Billy the Kid...interesting....

Alright fellas,I appreciate the kind words about Sam.But this crap about being Outlaw bred is getting old.I hunted a lot of outlaw bred dogs and personally don't have anything against them.But I don't call Sam or any of his brothers or sisters outlaw bred.If they are anything they are Burning Ben bred ,being that Kate is double Burning Ben bred.None of this meens crap to me,I choose to say my dog is Pepper bred and always will.Sam carries a lot of Little Pepper traits.Ive hunted with Little Pepper and Kate and Sam is nothing like Kate.Nothing against Kate she was nice but I know my dogs traits and I know where they come from.Now best of luck to everyone take the discussion somewhere else and not here.

This Pepper line started right here at my house from dogs my family and friends had for years here in the mountains.They started a club locally so I single registered one so I could hunt at the club and things grew from there.So I started my own line which everyone knows as the Pepper dogs.I was winning before any so called outlaw blood was mixed in with the Pepper blood.I did not go to some line of dogs and change any names to make it the Pepper dogs.I started it myself and was winning with them.And got lucky when Brian wanted to join in and help me push these Pepper dogs.Now it has spread all over country with the help of alot of people hunting and breeding Pepper dogs.Thanks to everyone that is hunting and promoting PEPPER POWER!

Brian, I just thought if Brent was going to point out that my B.J. female who was a great granddaughter to lil pepper was pepper bred and call her a pepper dog...that it was fair to point out that your great grandson to Outlaw Billy the Kid has exactly the same amount of Outlaw blood as My dog has of Pepper blood. I don't understand why Brent can call my dog a Pepper dog but I cant call yours an Outlaw dog.....Of course I am just kidding with you guys. I think you know that. I like to give all the dogs responsible for a good cross credit...that's all and sam has a lot of good dogs stacked behind him and Brent was responsible for some of that blood...I was responsible for some, the Key's were responsible for some and lots and lots of other.
I don't care what you call them...the blood in these dogs is on paper. names don't mean much anymore because people change them all the time...but the dna is not something that anyone can change. Its really not worth debating...the facts are the facts. Sam is the sum of all his ancestors...not just those on the top side...even if his outward traits resemble that side more. But I will say that I saw a lot of similarities to Outlaw Jessie and Outlaw Timber Girl in Sam when I hunted with him...more so that the direct sons of Burning Ben that I hunted with Billy was more similar to. It doesn't really matter though because all the dogs we have talked about were some of the best or the breed over the years...and Sam has all of that blood mixed together in him and that combination equal parts kate and equal parts pepper is what made that cross everything that it is. I will let you guys try and figure what dog is most responsible for the best parts if you want. I have hunted with Sammy, and his brother Jet and I have hunted with dogs 5 and 6 generations deep in his pedigree ....and I see a lot of similarities to them....but that's just my opinion. Good luck with Sammy and the young dogs you have coming up. Should be an exciting year for the breed.

Brian, Maggie may have to have a "c- section. She's 5 days late, pups are fine according to ultra sound. She's trying this morning to have them, we'll see how it goes. Been up with her since 1:00am. Call me when you can, thanks

Drama is what you make it.....there is no drama here.
Talking about a stud dog and his ancestry on a stud dog thread, on a public registry forum is called doing your homework as a breeder. No comment that I have made on here about Sammy or any of his ancestors was even the slightest bit negative and in fact were all positive. Since Brian didn't post a full pedigree of Sammy at the beginning of this thread...what is wrong with people who are interested in breeding or those who have owned or hunted with many of the dogs behind Sammy talking about them or discussing their traits and contributions to what makes Sammy the competition dog and reproducer that he is? Especially when every dog discussed is in his pedigree and every dog discussed was complemented or talked about in a positive way.
There is no drama ....just breeders with dogs from similar bloodlines discussing the ancestry of the dog this thread is about and doing it in a positive way so that others who might be thinking of breeding to this dog can get a little more information and history on what makes him tick and the dogs behind him tick. If your going to make an open thread on a public forum....you should expect people with information about the subject to comment....and no one should be upset if those comments are factual and positive....as they have been. Don't read too much into breeders talking about breeding.....it's all good.

I went to a comp hunt tonight but didn't enter turkey. There's a nasty bluetick in this area that was already entered. I'm not putting turkey in that crap on purpose. I went pleasure hunting instead and it sure was nice hunting without all the bs we put up with in some of these hunts. Gary, congratson shine, keep up the good work.

Travis,Turkey is becoming the dog that know one wants to draw at the hunts,he has made a very very nice hound and getting quite a reputation.

Had plans to hunt Queen at the Super Stakes,but she had other plans,she is bleeding like a hog.Perfect time to come in heat.

Brian Rogers has two females out of Sam and Grnitech Pkc Ch Rameys Nothin Fancy.they are fourteen months old and started,good mouths go hunting good super staked and performanced. Brian also has a 15 month old male out of Sam and Nitech Ridge Runnin Roxy,who is out of Ice and Jackpot Jackie,started and from a proven cross.Call Brian for prices and details.
