Hope yinz had a Happy Groundhog Day.
I'm tired of winter, we've been getting flurries for days. Chuck had to b plow the lane yesterday. Forecasted highs for a couple of days next week are in the teens with lows in the single digits. Hope that kills some flies, fleas and mosquitoes. Guess nothing but a hammer kills ticks

Posted by bigtimberkennel on 02-03-2021 12:41 PM:

A pair of pliers don't do 'em any good when it comes to ticks. I seen where you folks paid $3.08 a gal for propane ouch. Got a decent 19° this mornin & our forecast is bout like yours cold cold then down right colder.

Posted by bigtimberkennel on 02-04-2021 11:52 AM:

33 & a brisk south wind the kind to stay out of,& weatherman says worse is to come.

Posted by Rex W Sims on 02-04-2021 03:59 PM:

it's been cold here all week been a busy week justpaid my respects to a freind i grew up withj got home had a message where aole pony puller passed not a good week for me

Posted by Rex Ridge on 02-06-2021 06:04 AM:

It wasn't $3.08, it was $3.80 plus, they wanted $95 for tank rental, but I 've disputed that.
Was at mom's for 2 days, wasn't there an hour before I get a message from my SIL that Chuck's dad has been falling so she's staying with him. I told my mom we were going to move them in together so it would be easier to take care of them. She was NOT fond of that plan.

Posted by bigtimberkennel on 02-06-2021 12:19 PM:

Hang in there everybody. Got 13 & no wind so it really ain't to bad if you like cold. It's questionable.

Posted by hillbilly56 on 02-06-2021 02:13 PM:

Yep its a cold one & sounds to be for awhile ..... oh well winter has arrived & maybe we can get it all over with all at once 1 week of bitin cold then 25 ta 35 at night & 30 40 or so in the day I could deal with that.....but warmer sooner is better. HB you still workin part time? At Walmart?

Posted by Rex Ridge on 02-09-2021 05:48 AM:

Forecast has highs in the 20s and lows around the low teens until Sunday, then low -2. Chuck just bought his otter trapping permit today, if it warms up, he wants to set some traps. Have any of yinz trapped them before? This is the first year out can trap them here.

Posted by Rex W Sims on 02-09-2021 02:37 PM:

cold here again this morning,,,yep ive trapped a few,no expert by any means,,,i caught the most of mine in pocket hole sets baited with fish,,, another hot set is where they cross over land between two water ways,,put a trap where the exit the water and one where they reenter the water,,i used number 11 victor double long spring trap...they are powerful..drowning them is best...
