Jazz

Jazz did ok and Brian did a good job. We got to hunt with Jerry Farmer ( last years winner) and others. It was fun but we just couldn't find that last coon in big broke top oak. We came up 25 points short. Oh well. We will have at it again tonight.

That's the breaks sometimes. I saw Dana at the BBOA booth and she said you were back in the camper. I'm home now, we had a good pleasure hunt last night, made 3 trees and looked at 2 coons. I had to swim Chicksawhatchee creek to get Brummy deep and lonely on the last drop.

Thanks Tim and Roy. It sure was fun! It was the best of times and the worst of times as far as the hunting went. Ha! Ha! It's time to focus on Bluetick Days along with some smaller hunts in between. I plan on mad dog south bringing at least 2.5 dogs to compete at bluetick days. That's because .5 of Jazz has to be credited to mad dog north. That was for you Brian.

well i made it home 2pm monday i could of drove home faster now i'm home and there is this white stuff coming down? I did not miss this i'm going to point the snow blower to the south west so TIM get some hat for him to run out of it. Now that i took care of the cabin fever for a week or two i might make it through this winter.

I had a good time at the hunt JAZZ and I gave it a good shot she didn't look like her self she packed more then she normally would and i didn't help her any.Saturday we did get high scoring Grandnite for the blue dog just fell short with the points for any thing else.

There were two dogs there out of the MAD DOG KENNEL and they each won there cast saturday night and i hope to see more next year.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE HOUNDS AND HANDLERS on there wins i hope to make back next year----HUTCH

TIM- RANGER IS A NICE YOUNG HOUND THAT CAN WIN IN THE HUNTS AND YOU WILL FINISH HIM IN NO TIME AT ALL. See you in a couple of weeks.

Just got of the phone with one of my hunting buddys and we were talking about the hunts for this summer and how we are going to hunt.
He ask what we were going to do with JAZZ if she was going to make a run at the zone 6 championship?It don't look like it.

Iv'e had some call on if she was four sale and iv'e been listen to some offers if she is not sold i will hunter her in some bigger hunts and some zone hunts,she will be here in wisconsin for the summer.--------HUTCH

Bryan and I were planning on what to do this weekend and I am on the same page with him. Our agreement is that I own 50% of Jazz but 49% of the decisions. Bryan has been gracious enough to let us push her down here. She should make one or two of the BBOA zone 6 hunts but it is hard to push a female for dog of the year due to heat cycles. Jazz hunted in onty three zone hunts last year and came close to winning dog of the year. That was incredable for us.

Ya'll been doing much hunting Lance? We've been treeing a good many. With this bright moon the last few nights good tracks have been hard to come by.

It's been tough treeing coons toward the end of the week. We were slamming them Monday and Tuesday night, then Wednesday and Thursday night had tough hunts. Last night was rough, Brummy had to go right at a mile to get treed with a coon and an English gyp went a mile the other direction and had a coon.

Any of ya'lls clan coming to the Roberta RQE Lance?

Doing fair, he treed a dang possum the other night but other than that he's been doing alright.

2 possums in 3 years ain't too bad I don't reckon. Until last year I would have bet you money he wouldn't tree 1. I've had him go right past dogs with a possum and tree a coon. Heck he did it weekend before last in that hunt! Who knows what goes through their heads sometime.

Better Hunting

I had one of the best hunts I've had in a long time tonight. The coons were moving and 911 looked good. Sage did some things I really like but we still have alot of work to do with him. We have really got to push him in the woods now.

Sage one first place line and tree at the water race in Lawley, Al today. He swam twice and did a nice job. Too bad it wasn't a ukc event. Just won two trophies for fun. Not too bad considering it was his first time in the water.
