This is a graph that shows how much gold has risen in 10 years, but it just like the stock market up and down . When I started playing around prospecting it was at $280.00 to $320.00 an ounce . I wish I would have known it was going to go this high because I would have bought about 25 to 300 ounces and just set on til now and sold it ,,,yep 20-20 hindsight .

Last night I read an article in my Gold Prospectors magazine about a fellow around Perryville Ark. The story goes that he found 1.9 ounces of gold in 5 bags of sand from the local Home Depot store ,,@ todays current price on gold thats 2527.00 dollars . Now I know that there is gold in those bags I've panned it out too, never recover that much gold but looks like I need to go to the hardware store again ,SOON ,,lol

This is where things get a little sticky . I don't have web link for all the states laws on this matter . But I do know alot of streams like trout streams in Pa. is protected same for Ohio streams with live mussels in the gravel beds . You will need to do some research in the state that you plan to prospect in . But if you know a land owner that will give you written permission to prospect in his Creek providing he owns it ,you should be OK . But that was one of the reasons I joined the GPAA , there are enough claims owned or leased from landowners to relieve a little worry from you . If you have doubts to the matter you can contact the State Dept .of Natural Rescources to help you out . But boys if you reaaly want to do this you will have do some research on your own . Idid and still do research . I've gotten gold from Alaska .Ohio,Ind., Ill., Mo. and Idaho . LOL,I have yet to find any in my home state of WVa . But that is the lure of gold ,Boys its all in the hunt for it ,,,,,If it was easy to find We would all be rich . Don't get me wrong its not easy work ,but it is a great relaxing hobby that get you out in some beautiful country ,meet new interesting people ,,that sometimes old Mother Earth will reward you with some of her wealth . Theres an Old Prospectors saying that goes "May your bottom turn yellow !!" meaning hope you find alot of gold .

right here is one nice gold stream in Alaska. Grass at the base of one rock is the space that I dug out about $350 of gold in about 15 min.

http://felixpaydirt.com/video.html
There is a real good video on here after you watch the Felix commercial . The guys name is Doc from Gold Hawg , he shows you how to pan ,he goes through it slower for you to understand it . I'm like him ,you have to be a good panner and do it properly to recover that small stuff , its time consuming ,yes, but the way I see it GOLD is GOLD big or small ,,It all adds up in the end.
Oh yeah ,the only thing I would have done differently from Doc would have been to show you how to use your classifying screens to get rid of the bigger rocks .
