I heard it was a Haze and Polly pup that a fella near Smith Mountain Lake owns…And he is only about a year old.

A Haze offspring was Overall Champion at 2013 Southern Redbone Days. Another Haze offspring was Opposite Sex Overall Champion at Southern Redbone Days in 2014. Now a Haze Grandpup is Opposite Sex Overall Champion at Southern Redbone Days in 2015. That is pretty consistant.

Had a great time at Southern. Congrats to the winners. Had good casts each night with good folks. Weather was tough on thursday and friday nights. Not to bad on saturday night.

Enjoyed spending time catching up with everyone, especially at Cracker Barrel. It was good to see Carlos, Tommy and Ben. They did some impressive winning on the show bench as well.

Congrats to bond and his cull dog. BB and Matt picked up wins with Beamer and Frank.

I just got a new set of papers back and Haze has 19 PKC registered pups that have earned $2,090.

That's good Richard. Frog was looking forward to hunting the riner events.....that is until they switched it from tuesdays to wednesdays.

Well, Texas is a lot warmer than virginia, I like it.

Been hunting Stella some, she's young but she sure is showing some good potential. Had her in a couple of hunts and she's in the game each time just can't catch a break. She will make her own breaks soon enough.

Haze is a 2015 performance sire. He's been putting good dogs on the ground for years now. He is nine years old now, if you have a good coon treeing female, don't wait long, haze won't live forever.

It looks like Haze has one direct offspring and 2 grandpups in the $KC standings now. Haze pups are a great choice as the foundation for a kennel.

Stella

Took Stella to a hunt tonight in West Virginia. It poured rain on us pretty much the entire hunt...especially the last 35 minutes. Stella split treed twice and won her cast. She ended up with a second place.

Locket is a nice little dog herself, she spent time being hunted in Wisconsin at Tom's and down at Aaron Wades in Iowa. She has never been in a hunt simply because I always had something I was pushing but I always liked her and so I kept her around.

Here is a story Tom posted many years ago when he had started her for me.

What a treat...I walked in to find them stretched side-by-side on a big oak and giving it all they had. It was a big, bushy bugger but I caught an eye at least once so I know they had the meat.

Here we are at a point that we didn't want to be, we have taken pride on our females we had. Haze is one of the best hounds a man could walk behind.. He has made his mark and is putting nice hounds on the ground. If any one has a nice female don't over look the quality Haze puts in his puppy's. He is not getting any younger and there is limited breeding on ice that will be for personal use. Pastor Mike has worked with people over the years to get that special female breed. I'm looking forward to the Cloud and Locket puppy's..

Buck and I picked up Locket on Saturday morning. So, she is back home and is looking good. I guess we will know if she took in a few weeks.

I want to thank Matt Bailey for being so accommodating and willing to work with me to get Locket up there. Her timing of coming in heat was not quite perfect.....we were heading for Texas and I was afraid we were not going to be able to get her bred and Matt was willing to meet me in Charleston to help me on time. Thanks Matt for doing that and for taking care of our girl for a couple of weeks. I will let you know as soon as she starts to show.
