Hunt

I hunted 911 tonight. Had a great time and at 55 minutes into the hunt was sitting at 400+. One of the spectators even commented that he had never hunted with a blue dog that good. He said he didn't know there was even a bluetick like that anywhere. She was 100 points ahead of the next dog. Then came the end of the hunt. First and first or second with two misses with all dogs treed. The dog that won the cast finished with 100+. Oh well at least I got to see her potential for half the time. She hunted hard for me and stayed treed and held pressure. She'll be fine and I am glad to walk behind her. I love this little dog.

Congratulations to the English female that won the cast. She did a nice job. All handlers were very fair and it was truly fun.

Congrats on Sage's win to Champion.
From what I have heard 911 is a really nice hound. It's fun to hunt these Mad Dogs. Good luck on finishing her.
My son Timmy hunted our Turk male, Ch Nite Ch Mad Dog Mo. Blue Smoke, at a Black and Tan sectional last night and got his 4th NtCh win. One more to go!
Keep them in the woods and tell everybody I said Hi......Roy

Thanks guys. I'm no handler. I am encouraged that she seems to be coming on strong. Another week or two of hunting will only help her get better.

Paul, it is so refreshing to have you on the internet. Someone needs to keep us straight. Ha! Ha! Smurf should finish easy. I have no idea why Hutch gets rid of his dog power. Ha! Ha! Try to keep him straight this weekend and keep us posted on those females. If 911 keeps progressing I'm going to hunt her at Bluetick days.

Lance, send her to to handlers 101 so she knows how to train you, lol. Bottom line, if she's sitting in a kennel not being hunted noone can screw up so you are doing a great job with her! Keep up the good work getting her in the hunts.

Are you going to get to any of the hunts anytime soon? How are your dogs doing? We have been hunting ours every night so unfortunately we are never home. Dana has been a trooper working the hounds. Hopefully they will be 100% for bluetick days. Catch you later. Lance

I really enjoyed hunting Sage last night. Lance and Jazz beat us on the first drop. Going into the second drop Lance was a little cocky proud of Jazz and himself for calling her. When Jazz treed and Sage keep tracking Lance was laughing thinking they had us again. I still had faith in Sage and knew he would find the meat. About 75 yard from Jazz Sage treed. We checked Jazzs tree it was a bid oak tree. We were unable to find the coon then went to Sages tree and there we saw a big bore coon. I so enjoyed seeing Lances face. I was the one laughing after that. Hahaha. Can not wait to beat him again. Dana

Bad storms coming in tomorrow lots of rain and wind. Going to hunt Sage alone tonight to see how he does. The good thing is that Lance will not be hunting a dog and I will not have to beat him again. HAHAHA Dana

Took Sage out last night.
First drop he went a mile out running a track but he was getting to close to the railroad tracks and we could hear the train coming our way. We got him. I felt bad that he did not get to finish the track. We then took him to a different area and made a second drop. Sage went 500 yards stuck and treed. I walked in leashed Sage, shined the tree, and sitting in the top of the big oak was a young coon looking down at us. Sage was treeing so hard he broke the new lead. Snapped it right into. We loaded up and came home. It is not going to be much longer until we are putting him into hunts. It was a good hunt all but the train. Did not like the train messing with my hunt. Dana

Lance and I are going to our first Cur show and hunt today. Our club needs help and we are head to Lawley Alabama at 3:30. Lance is going to guide a cast for one of his good friends. Should be different but fun.

Curs

The cur hunt was interesting. Three trees, three opossum. Now I remember why I don't hunt our hounds with them. Just too much difference in the hunting styles. They each have their purpose and I do respect the curs.

Well all I can say about the Cur hunt is nothing like a Nite hunt. But we had good times with old friends and didn't have to hunt in the rain well I didn't Lance guided haha. Dana

Hunt

Hunted with Timmy Clifton last night, he took GR NT Mad Dog Smoke (definately deserves the TITLE) and Mad Dog Robin. Danny Ferris had Rooster III and I had Ranger. We had a good hunt in the misting rain treeing a single and a double. These four dogs are tree dogs and are not afraid of the dark. Three of them were sired by Turk and the other by Rooster II........Tim

I went with Dana to the Tuscaloosa show and she did good. Sage won champion male. Dana also showed Mad Dog Psyco Total Madness (Maddie) and won BFOS with her. Maddie is out of Sid and Tim's Blueberry female.

I am going to hunt 911 at the same hunt tomorrow night. Wish us luck.
