I am somewhere in the middle Sackett jr. was great and Lipper was great, but people got hung up on extreme tree dogs and kept breeding extreme to extreme, thinking it could only get better but it doesn't! There are allot of dogs now that need culling because of too much tree! Just like there were many that needed to be culled for no tree.
Too much tree is real!

Conrad me and you both know the right mix you don't have to do much training.
A extreme tree dog when he runs out of track is going to tree, you can kiss them, hug them, shock them, switch them but in the end they are going to tree, and generally according to the owner it must have been a monkey coon that has moved three trees over.

Mine are 50% accurate it's either there or it ain't lol !
How many of you ever hunted with Sackett Jr. ?
The night I hunted with him, he never treed a raccoon, he and his offspring made several trees, but we never looked at a single raccoon.
He had to be a better dog than what I saw,but that is a fact of what I saw, and Frank was not ashamed to show him, or Tell or Tuck or Son or that little female that his partner had named Threat, they all had 1 thing in commen, TREEDOGS!!!
2 weeks later from that hunt he was killed on the road around Elkhart In.
And that is the absolute truth!

I hunted with his dam. Skeens Dolly. I drew out with Lowell Boreen in a UKC hunt in Wisconsin many years ago. She was a very nice little dog and good looking too. I remember she sounded good in there treed as well... She was out of dahonys Boone

Jay I just got a question if you don't want to answer on here just pm me buddy to buddy what are you looking for when you are breeding lizzy that you want to produce out of other dogs instead of going back to what you know worked in the the past I know maybe we're you would have to go get it would turn some people off but that is somthing I always wonder every time I see you breed her.
Do you mean breeding her to rattler?

Yes or he has 4 tiled sons out of him I think 2 out of Jane the other 2 are out of the coma female I know your looking for one certain triat and I was wondering what it is . I have been trying to get that just out of nowhere nothing else can smell layup ability back I can't seem to find it you would kill dogs in the hunts right now with a dog like that.
Well I don't know about all that.. I've only had three dogs in my life that were true layup dogs and none of them were out of rattler. The best one was out of skipper and Trixie. The next one was sassy out of lipper and sass and the other was an ole Finley River x Loomis's Tom female I had.. I owned many Rattlers and none of them were layup dogs so if you had a lay up dog out of him I'm not sure that that is where it come from. I might be wrong.. still mouth dogs are not layup dogs of course but some think they are. I'm not saying you think that.. but all that said that is not what I am looking for.. as far as breeding to rattler the cost would choke a horse and as far as that goes I think there are many dogs out there today that would give you what rattler gave us. He was a huge mouth tree dog that produced that.. back then not that many dogs around that would strongly give us that tree power.. Today many out there. Lizzy has two shots of Sacket Jr on her bottom side so she has that covered.. I'm trying to get balance, natural born independance, big mouth and coons in trees.. I'm sure rattler would work fine on her , but he didn't produce natural loaner type dogs. So for the cost involved I will do what I have been doing. She has so far helped produce some dandies. The rattler pups probably would produce allot of attention and if you want to make that cross after I wean these Patch pups I will sell her to you..

I take that back I did have a rattler dog that was a lay up type dog, but he never had any coons in his trees so I don't know if that counts.. his name was Grntch Long MTN Hardtack.. man what a treedog he was.. I bred him to a couple real good coondog females and got some nice pups out of him.. one was ceder hill sass. The other was that ole Finley River female, but you see back then we wanted that tree power.. Not to take anything away from tack he looked real good in thick coons but if it was tough he treed way to much. I had another out of Heather and rattler named black Creek Jed that treed coons but was a one drop dog. He could really look good on one drop them he was done. Kind of on the lazy order he had a chop mouth . The real good rattler dogs I hunted with and raised were out of lipper females. That worked real good back then for sure.

Deacons mother was out of Rock River rocket and a stylish lipper female she could kill you in laid up coons deacon they could be working an old bad track and I could tell the second he picked up his head and would go to an old layed up coon and they were accurate about it and lightning quick. I ended our hunt last night with the option if my freind ever decides to sell his female I got first shot at her she is basicly a lipper rattler cross. But let me know I would like to see it happen can you imagine how much fun it would be to do it again lol ! Have to get some big ole mean young handlers tho lol !!
You guys realize there are dogs still breathing that are reproducing at a better percentage than all this garbage semen you idiots are paying all this money for? Lol

Josh not trying to be a smartazz but if you had hunted with the dogs that were off the mating that the "idiot" Jay made with Rattler you would want to be an idiot too.
