Now that's a good lookin' crew all waiting for a little action.

It looks like that bunch of pups is going to be about ready to ramble come this next fall. It's always interesting to see which ones will rise to the top...eh?

Iowa hunt

We'll be heading down to Troy Iowa in a few weeks to maybe hunt and visit with a few of the good folks down in that part of the country . If Dave can go, we'll bring Griz and Gun, otherwise I might make the trip myself and take one or the other.

Tim...I'll be looking forward to seeing you and spending a little time visiting. We'll be hanging out with our good friend Aaron and hope to catch up with a bunch of those good folks down in that part of the country.

We'd like to break Gun out down there but we'll see how it goes. I can usually handle a night in the woods but more than that might be pushing these knees a little further than they're able to go.

Griz has been looking real good and so has Gun

Tom

It will be good to catch up with you, eh? lol Like to see that sorry dog I call Griz. Going to be taking his #1 son, Clifford to an American Sectional tomorrow night. He has 4 Champion wins and has not been on the bench since the Troy event last May. Been holding him back and just putting him in shows that have a little meaning to it. I'll hunt him in the hunt and see how that goes. He has only been in one hunt and the handler cost him 175 points and he cost himself 75, but still ended with plus points. I was hoping to have Rabble ready to put on the bench, but if you can imagine Griz on meth, you might have an idea of what I am dealing with. lol Had the crew out a couple nights ago. Clifford and Bucky racked up 3.5 miles and Rabble ran up 5.3 miles and he really didn't go anywhere the other dogs didn't. He is a mover and shaker. I have high hopes for him down the road.

The sectional went pretty good for me. Clifford got his 5th Champion win and King of Show. He was only on the bench twice last year. He won this event last year and the National Zone event at Troy. He didn't fair out as well in the hunt, but drew 3 of the nicest handlers and we joked and laughed most of the evening.

Clifford's littermate sister won Grand Female and Queen of Show.

Congratulations

Tim...great job with Clifford, he's a nice young male and he's looking good.

Hopefully, we'll get to watch you try for the repeat win down at Troy. We don't have anything to show but Griz but you'd have to show both him and Clifford so you'd be a busy man

Wendell, congratulations on the cast win with Willow, it's good to see her keep showing up like that...good luck the rest of the year..

We're going to hunt at least one of the nights we're at Troy and the rest of the time we're just going to enjoy good company and catch up as much as we can...hopefully...we can keep Aaron from getting into too much trouble...eh?

Pup

She's a good lookin' cuss...that's for sure.

I hope you had a good trip Richard, the weather has been up and down lately so it could have gotten a little messy a few nights with wind and rain. It was sleeting and a little snow last night but now just rain so spring is having to work a little harder to get here now in late April than it did in mid March.

If that pup keeps coming on like she has started, she'll be a nice one for a long time to come.

I got to hunt with some real nice young T-Top bred hounds while I was up there. Hillbilly has a super nice young dog out of Rage that he calls Reggie. I got to hunt with him several nights. He is real quick and has a great mouth. I got to hunt with Dozer one night also and he is turning into a nice hound. Joe Maitland has a real nice young pup also but I have been sworn to secrecy on him. Joe thinks that he can keep him a secret until he springs him on the coonhunting world. We will see how that goes. I also got to see a couple of young litters of Redbones that are going to make their mark but apparantly they are big secrets also. Suffice it to say that Redbones have a big future up in Wisconsin and will continue to be there for years to come.

Tom

Caleb named his Leinie pup Nate. He said he had Nate out with my Ol' Zack the other night. Zack hit two different tracks that ended up in the ground. He said Nate went in and ran the tracks good. Nate was kind of confused about the track ending in the ground and had a confused look on his face. He showed me a video he had taken of him on a hang up coon and he was pretty wound up. He has some high hopes for him. Maybe you will get a chance to look at him when you are down. Hope Dave can get away, also.

CH 'PR' C&S RIDGE RUNNING HENRY

Here is a T-Top Rabble Rouser dog, top and bottom. Out of Show-Time Coon Stopper and Midnight Sweet Cherry. He'll be coming two years old in June and is realing doing well in the woods and on the bench both.

Real nice looking pup you folks have there. I have a litter mate male to him that we call Gun and he's an outstanding pup top to bottom.

We will make that cross happen again at least one more time if everything comes together and the sooner the better.

Somewhere down the road, I'm hoping that we can also get Cherry and Rage together...that would be a half brother/half sister cross with what I consider to be one of the best match up of lines ever made, doubled on top and bottom. That's kind of a mouthful to say but I believe those pups would be a handful to deal with for sure based on how those lines have matched up to this point.....

Young dogs

Hey Richard...it sounds like you guys had a good time and it can't get too much better than to have Reba leading those pups around...good company is part of a good foundation...I've heard some great things about those youngsters and I heard also that Dozer has the goods so it should be fun to watch it all unfold.

Tim, I'm glad to hear that Caleb is enjoying that pup. He was a bold and fearless puppy when he was here and he's put together right so they should make for a good pair for a long time to come. If we get the chance, it would be fun to see how he's growing and what he's turning into.

We'll see how it all falls into place as far as Dave being able to make the trip but I know I'm looking forward to it and unless something really unexpected happens, I'll be there with Griz and Gun.
