Spring
I've had a lot of calls lately for pups or started dogs and unfortunately, I haven't had anything to help folks out.
I will have a few surprises in the near future and hopefully something to mess with again for the rest of the summer.
Working long days and plenty of them with hardly a day off lately but I'm really hoping it calms down some in the next month or so...I'm already waiting on fall to come...I can't imagine a better time of year and it's in my blood all winter and all summer...just waiting for cool nights and frosty mornings and the turning of the colors...
Good luck to everyone attending Redbone Days, I'll be looking for updates on what's happening.

hunting
I took Jr and Chief out and the pup ran a hot track and treed with Chief and located with big bawls and rolled it over with hard chops.
Jr is the orange collar.

Dogs
The dogs look good Carl...it's good to see that you're able to get out and about a few nights. That pup looks like he's starting to get with the program and if he keeps at it, he looks like he'll be a nice hound by fall. It should be fun to put him out this fall and let him learn his business.
Are you guys running into any kit coons yet? I haven't seen anything squashed on the road yet and the only tracks I see around the ponds are all "BIG" coons. I'm hoping to see some activity pretty soon here so we can get back at it and see what these youngsters are going to turn into. I think I've got a couple of good young guns coming up and hope to make some noise before the summer is out.
Keep at it Carl, you're putting together a nice young pack of hounds there.

Thanks
Thanks Tom it is fun when things start coming together. And i did see a litter last night i thought about putting Jr on them but they were a quarter mile from any woods and they were in a big beef operation. So i don't think it would be good on a pup. The kittens are still really little. I seen two coon in the city limits of Viroqua. And this pup has only had one or two coon shot out two him. So it is pretty much natural ability.

Kits are down by me (Edgar area) My neighbor came over Friday night and said he had a mother with 8 kits in his maple tree in his yard. He was wondering how I was going to get them out of there, I then asked him, how good are you at climbing trees? lol

Wow! That's a pretty nice cross Tim...stacking it up pretty good.
Rabble and Music was a nice cross and brining old Rebel back in that close can only be good.
I'll be looking forward to seeing how that cross plays out...it should be very nice.

Cherry
Well Tom Cherry is at Bristol Ridge Kennels and she looks Beautiful. Dave was an hour late getting to the pick up point. Told me the traffic was bad. After seeing the pretty Gal he had with him I sure didn't blame him for being a little late. He don't need to think I believed the traffic story. They were sure a nice young couple. Wish them the best. Dave
Cherry
For everyone that forgot what T-Top Cherry looks like this is CHERRY.

Thanks
Thank you to Dave and his "better half"...no doubt about that...eh?
Good things don't sometimes get done without Team work and it was a great example of what that means when Dave met Dave out on the road so that we could get Cherry back in a position where we can make a repeat of what I think was a very good cross.
I've met Dave's gal and she's for sure his better half...nothing but good is going to happen for those two youngsters.
Scott...that's a great, classic picture of Leinie. It doesn't hardly seem possible that she could have just turned 6 years old...time really flies. Dogs like her stick in a guy's mind for lots of reasons..she's a class act for sure and always a pleasure to be around. She's doing real good and will hopefully be part of our great Redbone heritage for a long time to come.
Good luck to folks that are making the hunt at ARD in Trenton...I hope it ends up being a great week and that only good things happen for folks down there.

Cross
Douke is mated to Gun. Should see some pups around the second week in August.
Good things to come.

Clayton This is your Young Dog's Sire and Cherry was his Dam. I would have sent you a couple pictures of Ace but I don't have your e-mail. Dave
Ace
Gun is growing into a real good looking hound also. He has great muscle structure, good feet and legs a loud mouth and very tree minded at a young age. He's ready to get into the game but it's tough to get him into shape with limited hunting. Just the same, fall will come again and he will make a splash for the breed when his time comes. He hunts out good, strikes honest, opens right on the ground, has a very nice locate and will get on the wood like a dog much older and more experienced.
Ace and Cherry was and will be again, a great cross because it brings together strengths of two real nice lines of hounds and combines them into one dog that can be the best of both. It also doubles up on hounds that are a foundation of our line and going back to other great lines in our breed.
Good stuff...can't wait to see it happen again.
I was happy to see that folks had a good time at ARD. It's a tough time of year to hunt dogs and see them at their best but it's always good to see different dogs get a chance to win casts and make some noise at those kinds of events. Not everyone can be the big winner but the effort to compete and participate in the events deserves a lot of credit. Lots of good dogs don't make it to the final winner's circle...just can't happen but congratulations to all that made the trip and put in the effort.
We'll see what NRD brings for folks, maybe we'll get lucky and a good spell of weather will bless the event in July.

Clayton
Ace has a loud Bawl on track and a hard loud chop on the wood. Nice loud Bawl change on the wood. Your dog looks great. All of the dogs out of Cherry are doing extra good. The females are doing good too but the guys that own them are like Lambert used to be and not have a camera. Thank's for posting a picture of your nice hound. Dave
Pictures
When I get back at it, all the pictures I take will be of Gun and Dagger. They'll get the work and maybe Yank now and then just enough to keep him in halfway decent shape for later in the season. Gun doesn't need any help so it will be interesting to let him lead Dagger around and see how he deals with that kind of pressure. On the other hand, Dagger is ready to cut loose also and won't need a lot of work before he'll be ready for a hard season to be put on him. It's all good...and we'll get the wheels turning soon enough.
In the mean time...it will be fun to see Ace and Cherry back together and another nice litter on the way.
We'll have a few surprises again for later this summer, maybe a couple of extra special surprises...time will tell.

New dog
It looks like you've got an inside line on some of those youngsters Richard...where are you rounding them all up from? I've got a pretty good guess and it will be fun to see how she pans out.
