But Mike......I agree with Richard.

Bull needs his own post. He has the skill, pedigree and looks. Put that sucker out there and get some on the ground out of him. You know as good as I do that they are gone way too soon.

Good luck whatever you decide. He is a fine looking dog with a nice mouth.

LOL. You and Richard are probably right. I will most likely give Bull his own thread. I just don't want to be that guy or perceived as that guy who thinks his dog should be a stud just because he can tree coon. I like Bull a lot and he excels at some things and there are things that frustrate me. I guess we all desire to have that perfect dog. I'm pretty hard on my evaluation of bull, just ask delcamp...😀.
But I will say this about him, I've been hunting him on national forest and he seems to always get under a coon. Last night on a cold moonlight frosty night, he treed 2 singles (one in a den that I could see) and at 1am got treed at .8 on another den. I can't ask for more than that in our area.

Thanks for the compliments on Bull.....we'll see if a new thread pops up in the near future.

Regardless of any joking around...I like it when guys are hard on their dogs. They should not be bred just b/c they tree coons. They should be next level types. And I think Bull is premo

This big pine was the result after a pretty hot race.
I’m used to getting pics of just one dog. It’s proving to be difficult to get a good pic of two. These were the best I got. Stella is out of Haze. Bull is a grandpup of Haze through Frog. Nice dogs. Will probably breed Stella to Bull later this year.

RIP Stella

I’m sad to say that my Haze female Stella died Saturday after eating something while hunting Friday night. After the hunt, I put her up in her pen at 4:30 am and she ate as normal as was acting normal. I went to bed and got up at 10 and noticed her barking in her doghouse. She never does this so I went down and called her out and she was really bloated. My first thought was a flipped stomach but the X-rays showed that it wasn’t. They tried to pump her stomach and decompress her but was unsuccessful. They gave her meds to try and get her to release the gas naturally but she died in our house with me by her side at 4:30 Saturday. I will miss her, she was a very sweet dog. Her last hunt we had 2 den trees and a split with Stella and Bull both having coons. I’m glad just a few hours before she passed she was doing what she loved and was born to do. RIP sweet girl. Here are a few pictures from her last hunt.

Pastor Mike, That's just really sad. Did the vet think she ate something that made her gaseous and then for some reason she couldn't expel the gas? I'm sorry to hear about you losing her. I'll bet those would have been some fine pups with Bull. Best, Tom

thanks guys. i appreciate it.

i have found out some info since posting. my vet sent all of stella's info, the x-rays etc, to a specialist ER vet. the ER vet said it most likely was an abnormal flip of the stomach that was up near the esophagus which allowed the tube to go down but nothing could be extracted nor could the gas be released. It was just a bad situation all the way around and unfortunate. But, we know that anything could happen when we turn our dogs loose. If we lived a little closer to the vet, we would have done an autopsy to see exactly what happened. I will miss her, she was an easy keeper.

Haze offspring did pretty good at Southern Redbone Days. His son Roc was high scoring dog Thursday night. His grandson Bolt was high scoring male Sat night and his grandson Bull won his cast Sat night.

Had a good time at southern days. Weather was nice Thursday and Friday and just a little damp and cool on Saturday. It was good catching up with our fellow redbone folks on the grounds and at Cracker Barrel.

As Richard said, the haze offspring did well. Roc (haze/Coffman bred), Bolt ( ranger/haze bred) and bull (Harry/haze bred) all won a cast with roc and bolt both placing. Nice job guys.

I've got semen on ole Haze to use, but the female would need to be a great female.

Got plenty of straws on Haze to last me a while.

I decided to take Frog along with Bull and Dottie last night. Frog had not been out in a year, had a liter of pups and is terribly out of shape. They finally got a good track going and Frog treed first at 600 yards. Bull kept going to the right on another small creek that ran into the one frog was treed beside. Frog had a big den. So me and frog started towards bull who was over 800 yards by this time. When we got close I cut frog to him and she ended up split about 50 yards from Bull. She had hers and Bull had 3 up his tree. Normally I would leave them split but I just led frog up to bulls tree so I could shoot one of the small ones and frog could have a little fun. Got a few decent pics. Got several with frog sitting down at the tree. Anyone who has hunted with her knows that she never sits but is always on the wood. She treed hard on the first den and then as well on her split. Then she treed hard when I took her to bulls tree. She was wore out.
