I took my old dog out of Haze by himself last night in a blinding snowstorm. He treed a coon and made it look easy. If you want the real deal, you better get you a Haze pup! Dr Laster, you have a PM.

Santa Claus came early this year. This a 12 mos old "female" Haze pup treeing without any coaxing for the first time. She actually treed first. Dogs were trailing and I heard this loud locate that I had never heard and then a loud hard chopping. She was spitting them out when I got there. She turned to see what I was up to just as I snapped the picture. I guess that those 3 nights in Arkansas did her some good.

well........it's 5am and I'm heading out to meet Jason. We are going to see if we can cut a bear track this morning and get one jumped up.

Looks like it may warm up a little over the next day or two......if it melts enough of this ice....might be able to get out one night. we'll see.

I tried again last night. The first drop Tom treed with my buddy's 12 mos old Walker pup. I learned that I needed to Zoom in more. Not too shabby for a couple of 12 mos old pups, eh?

The next drop, he was split about 30 yds with the coon. I was so excited about finding the coon and shooting it out that I didn't get a picture. Tom Tom is starting to fill out more now that cold weather is here and I haven't been hunting him as hard. Boo Boo would be proud of me.

Do these look like anyone you know? Who does that treeing style remind you of? Tom looks like a combination of his Sire, Dam and Grandsires. I guess that you could say that he is just a " chip off the old block".

Nice job Richard...I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. I like his style for sure and he does remind me of all that you mentioned. I know I've got a lot of pictures of ol' Rabble Rouser stretched out like that and Raven was always glued to the side of a tree like that. I know that Sally always has her nails dug in and Haze and a pretty long list of others show up in that nice young male. He looks like a good one Richard...good looking and great style and he trees coons...what more can a man ask for?

We've got a few real good lookers here in the yard and I'm real anxious to see how they go. We're not doing much at the moment, the snow is up to our butt cheeks and more on the way. Snow training is a lot of work but maybe we'll do some and explain to folks how we do it so that we don't ruin a young dog in the process...it's gonna have to warm up and pack the snow a little bit first but...those days are comin'

I took another one tonight. This is a 12 mos old Haze pup named Chick. I guess that it is just "a family tradition".

If you want nice pups then you had better breed that good female to Haze. Buck, I think that it is easy to see why Sally is my all time favorite female. I can't believe that they haven't put her picture on the cover of the magazine yet!

Oh my goodness, y'all sure do have purty pups. I love their ears. Tom and Chick almost beat themselves to death when they shake their head. My geuss would be Haze and Shadow. I have an awful problem now. I have 4 pups that are running and treeing and need to be hunted nightly. I also have one that is 10 mos old and I haven't even started him yet. What am I going to do?

You got one right. the male pup is haze but the female isn't shadow. I never got shadow until she was 10 months old.

That is a nice problem to have Richard, all those pups running and treeing.

I have two here that I haven't messed with yet. One 12 month old and one 10 month old. Might let the 12 month go to the right person.

Frog Dawg looked good stretched out beside Da Moose and Hurnie tonight. The second drop was probably one of the fastest trees we have ever made. Cut the dogs.....45 seconds later and about 65 yards up the hill....dogs treed with the meat. Nice hunt.
