Doug, I think I'm getting soft, LOL. Surprise visit from Grand Kids, made me decide to stay home and visit with them!!

Had Holly & Jaz out last night. A buddy of mine hunting a Double Hooper Ridge X Briar Creek bred dog came over for a hunt. This young dog looked pretty good for such a small amount of hunting. 1st Drop Holly 1st & 1st on a den, the male dog (Dan) got treed across the hollow with a coon, Jaz wouldn't cover either dog but couldn't get treed either. We recast Holly and Dan toward Jaz, but Holly went back to eat on coon carcus, Dan got treed again on a big den on the same hillside that Jaz was working.

2nd drop, Dan had 1st strike and 1st tree. Holly was in at 3rd & 2nd, Jaz was in at 2nd and 3rd, no coon seen. Sent dogs on, Holly got struck and treed behind us with a coon, the pups went the opposite direction, Dan was in at 2nd and 1st, empty, Jaz was in a different direction found her barking over a hole in the rocks.

So we treed two that we seen and came on home at midnight.

Short video of Hooper Ridge Sudden Sam. Sam is coming two and will be put in some hunts this spring. Sam is owned by myself and my Nephew Mike Biggins. Mike has done a good job of bringing Sam along. Thank to You Big Mike for helping this old man out.

That danged wind is supposed to hit here this afternoon/evening. Now that is gonna be some butt ugly stuff. Put that big log on the fire buddy, were sure gonna need it for the next few days. BURRRRRRR!!!!!

Hello Bub, we have not yet scheduled any for this coming spring, but talked about starting them back up probably late March or beginning of April. Does Sat Nt. work best for you??

YAAAHOOOO !!!! They are predicting 45 to 50 degree temps next week. Maybe finally !!!! we will get some relief.

Bub, we had our club meeting this past weekend and I have scheduled 3 HTX hunts. April, 5th, May 3rd, and June 7th.

All Saturday Night events. Hope you can come up and help me tree some of these hillbilly ringtails, LOL!!!

Well by golly/gee whiz, Ole Holly & I got to the woods last night. Though the snow was still 3" deep on about half the woods we still had a good night out chasin ringtails.

Hope the rest of you are finally getting to hit the timber as well, its the best therapy on Gods Green Earth!!!

My Nephew took Sudden Sam by himself and put 3 singles on the outside by 9:30 Hope he looks that good when we put him in a hunt, LOL!!

Holly & I took a hunt with a couple of our club members tonight. Danged the coon sure was running ahead of this storm. We treed 3 coon between 8:30 and 10:30 and then treed another big den at about 11:15 Great Hunt Good people, sure was fun to get out.

BUT hang on, as were going to get blasted later today OMG More, more, more SNOW

Well I took holly to the Rqe at Barlow this past weekend,got to see many old friends and met some new ones as well. Though holly has only been loose about 3-4 nights since New Year's Day, she didn't embarrass me too bad. Though we did not win the cast, we had a good group of hunters and a great coonhunt. We treed 6 singles on this moonlight night and all dogs did their part. Congrats to mr. Bob Stewart and his fine blue tick female for winning our cast. Condolences to our cast member, Carmel, from Inez Kentucky, for loosing that cast in the way that it played out. Ole streak did his part, and a mighty fine job he did. Tuff to loose one that way buddy. Would love to draw this same cast any/every night. It sure was fun. Good hunting to all.

Congrats to my nephew Mr. Mike Biggins and his fine blue (ENGLISH) hound, Hooper Ridge Sudden Sam. Mike and Sam captured the High Scoring English Male at our English Sectional on Friday Night.

Danged sure wish I had a camera with me tonight, Ole Holly treed on a monsta tree that would have made for one of the finest photo's a man could have asked for. This tree was probably 4 ft through the middle with a small boulder leaning up against it. When we got to the tree, there stood Holly on top of that rock, stretched up as high as she could reach, head thrower back, looking straight up the tree, and telling the whole world that she had chased a coon up that tree.

Gosh that would have been one for the mantel, LOL.

Oh well it sure was pretty and my hunting buddies sure liked it as well. Guess I'll have to chalk this one up to another GREAT memory!!!

You need to go back there with your camera and see if she trees on that tree again !! Happens all the time to me too! Give miss Holly a pat for me!

Good Luck with those LE pups Frank. I would bet they will be pretty nice pups. Doug is a supe good guy and LE is a super nice hound.

Thanks to Dave Riehle, I now have a new project for this summer and fall. She is a little blue female off Red Ruby Hard Time Hoss and a female named Cross Creek Jetta. Jetta is off Main Street Jack and a female from Del Hudson's kennel that is off Razor.

I just picked her up Sunday. She is very sensible around the kennel and man is she quick when running speed laps around the yard. If she has enough nose and brains to match her natural athletic speed she will be quick. But only time will tell.
