Here is a video of Jasper treeing tonight. I was about 60 yards from them.


He still has to learn he cant climb the tree he won't stand still much for a photo.

Rusty pups

Looks like more than one of Rustys pups knows what a coon is have had computor problems so haven't been on but have a litter of pups 6wks old I'll be posting shortly .... Neal

The last few weeks been leaving the old dog on the leash while Jasper ran around. He has hit a few tracks but tough finding the trees. Last night I left the old dog at home. Cut Jasper loose within 15 minutes he had one up the tree. Tough on him holding the 5,lol but he did it. Cut him again ran a track and treed. The tree had a bunch of small ones going up in it. I am not for sure if he checked or if he just started treeing. Could not find that one. Sent him on from there and he hit the snow and played a little and took off on a track. Finally worked it till he treed and had the meat.
I think this dog has it more natural than anything I have shown him. At 5 month I did show him a caged coon and he would not mess with it. He has always been able to find a drag and is not afraid to chew on one.

Glad he is doing well still a pup and doing it makes me feel good mom is a natural and Rusty is just plain good . Good to hear from you We've been snowed in since Dec so I've not been able toget to the woods having my shoulder fixed in a couple weeks so it will be summer before I hit the woods again our traing season close Apr 15 and opens again July 1 . Thanks for keeping me up to date ... Neal

Well my shoulder surgery went better than I figured back up and around but not able to hunt doc stressed not falling on it ( that never happens ) in the woods anything can happen most of my woods still have plenty of snow just need to get my knee doc to get his head out of his --- so i can walk again Neal

things are looking up

The last two weekends of English sectionals have gone well for the Rollingthunder hounds .King and Queen both weekends Patty had to set out this weekend seems she couldn't hold off another day 3 wk in the heat pen . pinch hitter Lucy B looked good won GRD class and Queen . Preacher was king plus Grd class this week king last plus we had BS male and female plus Ch female was a good day all won with comp now if i can get this knee to cooperate so we can get to the woods a little been taking pups to run but they seem to keep themselves busy alone

Took Jasper to his first UKC hunt last night. At 13 months I was hoping to stay in it for the 2 hours. Well he ended up with 200 plus no minus and got 2nd overall. This was also a RQE so now to hunt him up for the zones. As I said several times this is a great fun dog to own. His ability and drive comes natural. Very good job in studying the breeding and making good crosses.

All I did was put two good dogs together most think I only show dogs but if they don't tree they don't hang around here I can't do the night hunts anymore and I'm sure glad for fellas like you to give one of my pups a chance makes me feel good !!! By the way I've made the cross again if she took she is due the week after E Days

Got word from my new knee doc this evening the knee that was replaced 11 months ago needs to be taken out and fixed seems the parts are loose thats what happens when you try to do two things at once.

E Days

Made the trip out my Ch female Rollinthunder Blue Rose won the thur. Ch female class she's realy come around the past year since I got her back she's only been to the woods enough to show me she's interested . Her mother Rollinthunder Rose was bred to Dual Grd Haile's Red River these pups should make some fine hounds Rose has been a natural since 6 mon. old Red Rivers record is about as good as it gets fingers crossed I get a good litter . Pending knee replacement is going to set me back another training season but it has to be done . I guess if the breeding on my young dogs is good enough they will stand the wait .

Up Date

Rollinthunder Rose appears to be bred not a huge belly but she didn't her first litter so more to come . Got some good news on my knee yesterday hopefully it can be fixed arthoscopicly doc says i cann't wreck it so off to the woods when this heat dies down alittle .

Rose is making up a bag filling with milk due the 7th don't know how many she'll have but they should be nice . Been to the woods last two nights Patty has been working out the kinks but came up treed both nites I'm doing the same

Rose had her pups today only two females that will make decisions easier as thhe wife likes blue dogs and 1 is either blue or tri color now toget them growed up

Heat

Been hot and dry around here lately been running Patty and now putting young dogs with her they don't get much out of her just winding and comming up treed but their out there she treed three times in a small patch of woods with apple trees 2 fair sized trees and one apple tree all had the meat could have treed more as every apple tree seemed to have kits in them but we called it a nite after an hour got the call today my surgery is oct 6th so kill season is out for me this year

Winning

Well we've been on a winning streak in the local shows just wish a few more people would get out and support our local clubs . I know the economy isn't good but I'm on a fixed income but continue to try to help out lately I've had half the dogs in the show don't mind the wins but it's more fun to have comp. My year will come to a stop Oct 6 th when they try to fix my knee hope it's a simple fix !!!!!

24 days and counting lots to do have been working on finnishing 2 Ch to grand haven't been able to post pics new computor should be set up soon .Have been hunting a limited amount fell in love with my Patty female all over again I can walk her through a woods or around a ruff patch and she gets it done trust me I love to listen to a hound work but watching this little dog work puts new meanig to a hunt !!!

Hope your knee surgery goes well and you get moving along quickly. Jasper and I will be heading to the zones Friday and see if we can survive. He has been doing great in the woods and there are not many night I don't find eyes. Can't wait till leaves come off around here and see what is really going on.

I hope you and Jasper do well I'm glad Jaspers doing the job for Ya . I'm hoping my knee surgery is a easy fix but my luck realy doesn't work that way but I can hope will have to see how winter comes in if I can hunt later on I'm trying to work young dogs between getting things ready for when I'm laid up

Well after almost a year of complaining and changing docs the new guy scoped it found alot of scar tissue and alot of floating crap his words not mine knee feels better already don't know when he'll let me go to the woods but right now I'm not even allowed to use a cane tells me not to baby it . Common sense tells me to work slowly at it though

Take it easy Neal and heal up right. Many more fun years left in the woods. Between work and rain this past month have not been very good to hunt.
Did make it ot hunt Saturday night at the zones but ended up withdrawing and found him under a coon a mile away.lol. Went out last night with him and my gyp and the first track not real for sure about. Went about 400 yards pretty wuick and beat around for a while but was getting close to a highway and houses so toned them back. Then nailed the tow trees and homw in an hour and a half.

Sounds like Jasper is doing good . Doctor told me today I can work my way back to normal activities all he did was clean the junkout of my knee I can't realy hurt it other than have some pain . I'mgoing to start working young dogs in a few days and willpost some pics as the computor should be up and running in a day or so . Season will open without me as I don't feel the legs will handle it yet but I won't be far behind
