Had a short drag session with a fresh coon from last night's hunt. The pups did a pretty nice job on it. I'm pretty excited about both pups (Ace x Baby 6 on left, Ace x Rain on right ) Joker is the bigger of the 2 and just turned 6 months. Rain-X is the smaller one. Hes only about 15 weeks and has got a horn on him. Both pups are action packed. It's going to be a fun winter watching these two grow up. This was the first drag for X.

had another drag session today with the pups, Rain-X is gonna be a real nice tree dog if he keeps this up, and Joker seems to be a heads up type dog on the ground. There was no visual enhancement on today's drag. they both blew the top out, now just time to get joker in the woods, and let X get a little more size on him and he will be right there with us

Joker (Ace x Baby six) is really turning into a nice pup. He's treed several by himself already, and has split a few times and held pressure with a few coons. At 9 months old I'm pretty pleased with him.

I haven't had much time to get on here much lately. Jimmy Cashaw bred his Legend x Penny Candy female to Ace last week while I was in Arkansas on a duck hunting trip. With the results from the Ace x Penny cross, I imagine these pups will have all the tools. Plus a shot of Legend surely will not hurt their odds. I think he may already have homes for several of the pups depending on how many she has. That says a lot for what is expected from this cross

John, it's always good to talk with you man. I agree with what you said about breeding the best we can. We all need to quit being stuck on this bloodline or that bloodline so much and try to breed the best hounds we can to make the breed the best we can. Id like to have a nice Lonesome female to back up to ACE just to see what we could come up with. Id love to mix up some things with the lines of hounds that are showing up in the $kc hunts and doing their share of winning.(country, Lonesome, Rebel, Bocephus and any other one that has proven they can win on the highest caliber stages)

Ace has had a wild spring health wise but we got him back on track thanks to Craig and the vet. He had a hernia and we had to have him operated on. Thank the good Lord that everything went as planned. He's been recovering for a couple months. As soon as it cools off a bit, I'm gonna let him stretch his legs.
