If I had it to do all over again I would do it again man the memories you just can't explain it because you can't replicate it when you had all the big guns in one spot all the excitement level was maxed out when you walked in a room and Joe house , James merchant , John Monroe , Russ beller , and the list goes on and on we're setting there the true legends of the sport without them none of this would have happened now you got guys that are a legend in their own mind just sayen.

Boys if Tom Hopkins pulled up this year to the winter classic with a clone of lipper with him, no other dog that was there would not even get a look at or talked about and he would book 500 breeding's that weekend alone. if a dog out of lipper semen wins the winter classic autum oaks walker days grand American or the UKC world you just as well quit buying stud adds because every good female in the country will be going there, Why because those of us that hunted in the 80s 90s know what a honest to goodness coondog is and there not nearly as many now as there were back then and that's a fact.

This is a just turned 2 year old (December) dr law male I'm hunting. His momma is out of a full brother to war creek Anna. He sure is making a dandy and will be in his first hunt feb 3-4 at the open pkc Florida state championship hunt. Huge mouth and has really been locking down on trees and is very accurate. I will be pushing this dog in the hunts very hard so all you lipper haters keep your eyes on this dog. I believe he will do some winning here in the very near future. By the way all the hunting he has been doing is public state land no feeders and thin coon and rough swamps.

Conrad, them are some good looking pups. One thing I noticed is there pasterns look weak. Maybe free feed high protein feed? Is the whole litter like that?

I had a line of old cow stock dogs that all my litters had that problem but I knew it was from them being free fed. Bones growing faster than their joints but they grew out of it by 6-8 months old. Good luck with them.

Conrad you are right. Nothing to be concerned about with those pups. Blaster threw big lankey dogs that look loose when they are in the growing stage but they will tighten up nice. Bet the narrow blazes will almost disappear by two years old. Sure like to see well cared for pups like that. They sure are typical Blaster. Good luck with them.

Lot Lipper jealousy still out there.

Thanks for the comments guy's, Joe we are so busy with work right now i doubt it, but he is hunting him by his self nightly getting him ready for some hunts.

Was there ever a stud that everyone Loved? They all are just dogs, Like us none perfect, Try and keep the traits going of the ones you like, there is good and bad in all, just because you had bad does not mean the rest of us did.

I'm with Bruce Conkey on his famous quote: Coon Eye's Matter!

And my new slogan:Paper's don't matter, Traits do!

What you don't know is a lot of us are friends and it's nothing more than picking on each other. But I garentee no more effort than some of the younger bunch puts out they would have never trained one like we did I would have loved to had an alpha and hunting boots with heavy chaps and a decent light back then !!! You had to hunt a dog out of lipper to conquer them at least 5 nights a week and not just for a couple hours either.

If I would have had all the stuff I have now 20/30 years ago .... Ranger , alpha, good lights.. and have all that with young legs.. My tracking collar back 30 years ago were little copper bells... I thought they were the cats rear end the first time I used them lol..

Only tracking system I had was a 500 acre briar and cat tail patch but you could send them any night and they would hit it wide open lol. What I liked about them was you could hunt three of them put one out go a mile drop anouther go a mile drop anouther they would never get together but you could still hear all three lol !! Big mouthed suckers.

Tracking systems had been around when I started hunting by myself, (13-14 years old), but we were fairly poor. Had a little female of my grandpas named Willies Miss Nightmoves (she didnt bark on the ground much, but she always had a coon) and than some pups that werent much. I hunted a lot of junk walking behind our house, but I never was allowed to hunt Missy till I was old enough to drive. At that time we couldnt afford the whole system, but Grandad scraped enough up to buy a collar that could be tracked on my brothers system. I would turn Missy loose sometimes on some rough nights, and she never came back. I would have to drive 20 minutes to my brothers, steal his system out of his box, and try and track her down. One night I lost her, and finally used the beep beep to get her under the floor boards of an old house. Went home and got an axe, and chopped all night long thinking she was dead under there and grandad was gonna be pretty sore. By the time I found the collar (no dog attached) that old house was almost dismantled, and it was 10 am, and I had been looking since midnight. I laid a coat down, went home, and before I went to bed I looked in Missys kennel and there she was, sound asleep in her barrel. I was 20 years old before I got an innotek tracking system and collars of my own, and I really thought I was the cats meow.

It would have been nice to have an alpha and my Sidekick on nights like that.

When I started out hunting lipper was 10 miles from my house and my dad had the best coondog I was ever in the woods with. Mac and my dad would hunt 4 or 5 nights a week and we hunted with a lot of good ones out of Lipper. If you wanted to define loud hunt with Cash. See the fastest I ever saw in a cornfield take Lippers Mack . Hunt with world class females take Lipps or Liplock Kate . These dogs all had looks mouth and ability and had one thing in common they had the hair hunted off them night after night to get there. I started a bunch of them out of Lipper and all I ever wanted to see one do was tree. If they would tree the rest would all come with hunting.
