Tennessee RQE

So just curious if anyone has to drive more than 3 to 4 hours for an RQE ? Just remember when they was all over and wasn’t so spread a part. Just moved to East Tennessee and my closest one is almost 4 hours !! I remember living here before and they was all over. The area. I do realize they are some clubs closed but it looks like another club would be willing to take over an RQE. I’ve been told it’s because of numbers are low. And after hunting in 7 different states this year I can say they are down all over not just a certain area. The Meigs and birchwood kodak Knoxville Madisonville RQE’’s are all gone. But I know of several clubs in that area that are up and running and doing great things in there communities. Was just curious if anyone had areas with several RQE’S that are now gone ?

Cedar Bluff, VA

All those are within an hour and a half of Kingsport, TN

Be nice if I lived in Kingsport. Unfortunately those are 3 plus hours away. So living in Benton or Cleveland or Chattanooga or Tellico plains still nothing close. There use to be 3 to 4 RQE’s around. But nothing close. Guess a man has to move to Kingsport Tennessee to be close to something lol 😂

We tried to get a rqe for 2025 at Tellico Trevor said he thought
We could but then denied us I am not sure why there is a big hole
In our area for a rqe to go too

So. Yeah just as I said. Nothing close around here after losing 4 to 5 RQE’s in this area it has really hurt a lot of the hunters in this area. Unless they are willing to travel hours.

Try and see if some of those clubs could get qualifying slams.

The reason there are no RQE's is that no hunters showed up when they had one. It isn't the clubs or UKC's fault. Just because 1 hunter wants to have one doesn't make it feasible.

No hunters showing up at any. Of them. Today’s RQE is not gonna turn numbers like they did 20 years ago. And that’s just part of it I guess. But when you have 5 or 6 RQE in the area then nothing that kinda hurts a lot of our guys in the area.
