Blueticks on bobcats

Anyone hunting Bobcats with Blueticks? If so, what lines are you running?

We run one bluetick on bobcats. She does a nice job. She is out of Mark VanDeventer's Buster and Super Bee dogs... Haven't yet found another blue one that I like yet... Most of them local are grade and have some walker in them..

Just about every dog that we have that ran bobcats was a blue dog. Too bad they are all grade

I run Gascon Hounds on bobcats for yrs. I lost my best ever gascon nearly 2 yrs ago and even form my own pens nothing has come foward as good as him

One of my buddies and I are thinking about trying to get some cat dogs going and giving it a try. Thanks everyone for the response.

A buddy of mine runs a Sandberg bred bluetick on cats and bear. I have seen a few other Sandberg dogs run bear. They are some of the best all around track and tree dogs I have seen. Most dogs in this line get ran on coon and they do a very good job on coon, but I have been lucky to see some run big game. Their strong point seems to be their cold-trailing ability. Good, solid cold-trailers. But, don't assume they are slow, when the game is jumped, they don't get out-run.

Blueticks on Bobcats

I run nothing but blueticks on coon and bocats. If I had a few more cats, I would break my dogs off of coons. We hunt dry land only and road the dogs across these large ranches. I caught a cat each of the last two times I had my dogs out which was last week. Since then I have come down with a cold and have not been in the woods. I have bred these dogs for speed and nose. I am not interested in a hound that trees 100+ barks per minute for that leads to other problems. My dogs are Smokey River, Upson Blue Boy II, and Rambo II.
Speed on track is very important in this dry country. Some dogs are very good cold trailers but don't have the speed to get the cat jumped and running. Once you get him running the dog must have the speed and stamina to pressure the cat and make him climb. The last cat I treed was a big tom, I had three dogs on the ground and only one finished the race in this heat. He was barely treeing for lack of air and was staggering from the over 30 minute sprint. But he had the cat. Many good coon dogs, especially competition style don't make good cat hounds for they are "looking for a tree". They will pull up short and go to treeing and ruin the race.

heard these cameron dogs are good on cats or big game got me one to try on coon 11 months she hates a coon will pick it up and walk off with it still alive does not seem to feel pain have high hopes for her.

Contact Jared Lawreson on here....he might have a male pup left. He has males only left from a cross on Hillbilly. His Grand Nite Elle female is bred that way....those pups should make a cat climb. She is extra nice and a reproducer

Cameron bred dogs for bobcats

I am sending my oldest son to look at a Cameron bred gyp in Utah. I know that this line is known for their cold trailing ability and toughness but I am concerned if they have the speed to jump a cat in this country. Of course, if I hunt her with my other blue hounds getting the cat jumped won't be a problem.
