Dennis I never heard of a bear with rabies. I always thought they couldn't get it.

I know, I didn't think they could get it either. From what I've read this is only the 2nd documented case east of the Mississippi. The other one was about 5 yrs ago in Maryland.

Just think Justin if one of your 600# bear come down with it. A John Deere Gator wouldn't stand a chance!!

Dennis that was along the lines I was thinking off. That wouldn't be good.

Thanks Justin King

I LIVE IN MARYLAND, THE WESTERN PART WHERE THE MAJORITY OF BLACK BEARS ARE AND I NEVER HEARD OF A RABID BEAR. NOW I COULD HAVE MISSED IT BUT I REALLY DOUBT IT. THE WAY THEY SPREAD CRAP IN THE PAPERS HERE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WORLD NEWS. LOL.

I live about 5 miles from where this happened. The bear was trying to get in their house. The DNR said it had rabies, but the way they try to protect the bears around here, they would say anything to make a bear not look bad.

Sorry missed that location. Thanks

A bear...

is a mammal...and any mammal can get rabies. Thought in bears it is very rare.
