Clarks Tree Fiddling Snake

Snake was out of Rusty Red /Hanks Red Brandy

That was one of those Zack bred female and Rusty Red crosses that seemed to work so well. Brandy was out of Zack

I rembering reading Kimberly Clark add in one of the coonhound mag. years back on
Tree Fiddling Snake & the intresting thing about his add was a statment a well known walker
man made a statment on snake stating that he was the best dog bar none of any breed
& back then i was thinking to breed one of my red females i think Dinah-Might -because Zack was out of my Dark Star &
i wanted to get close on the pups on that blood & i talked to Kimberly Clark back then a few dif. times & he said ok but it sliped by
& it was never done to my regret , some where in all my red stuff Kimberly sent me a few pic. of Snake he was a med red stockier built maby around 55 / 65 lbs. a top red

I have seen three really impressive young red male dogs in my life... I am sure there are more out there, but I have seen three that I knew were extremely talented that seemed to have all of the natural tools at a young age.

Hoffmeister’s Bomber – I saw at 10 months old…..he had been hunted less than a handful of times yet was a super loud, natural tree dog. An old man who was a friend of Harold’s had him and the three of us hunted together one night. I was leaving for a two week trip the next day and as I left Harold’s that night I told him, “You have 2 weeks to get that dog bought, after that he’ll be at my place.” Great color and confirmation and what a mouth.

Snake – I just bought 2 straws of Snake semen off of Kimberly. I saw him at 11 months of age…. A gawdawful tree dog and very overlooked. Rusty on top, Zack on the bottom. Look for those pups sometime next Spring.

Crow – I think he is currently leading the Redbone Breed standings in dollar wins in another registry. John Delcamp had him at his place and he was out of Harry…. He had been hunted maybe a handful of times and was right at a year of age, maybe a month or so more, I am not exactly sure … hunted well, huge mouth, natural, tree crazy dog. I tried to get John to price the dog to a good friend of mine who was a walker man but the dog looked crazy good that night. I think John finally realized what a super freak he had that night and that the dog just needed to have a pair of boots worn out following him and he’d be a dandy. I don’t much about this line of dogs but this dog had tons of super, natural ability and I wouldn’t hesitate to throw a female under him. I hunted with the dog 3 or 4 times and he improved each night…. I don’t know how he finished out but suspect he is the real deal….. I have seen lots of good one over the years, but these were the 3 that really stuck out at a young age.

Good Hunting,

Mark
