Update "The List"

Two years ago I had UKC run me a list of the top 50 reproducing males and females for the redbone breed. I'm thinking of having it run again to see who has moved up . Anyone want to list any updates they know of now or do I gotta pay to find out your secrets again. I can tell you I'm sure it has changed a bunch in 2 years.

This list is in my grubby little hands but it is pretty good info.UKC puts the top 10reproducers in bloodlines each month but to make that list males must have 100 pups and females 20 and have a recent litter. my list is simply highest number of titled offspring in the last five years. It allows you to see up and coming stud dogs and good quality females. I also have the breeders and owners of those dogs too so I can see what lines are working . UKC is very good to work with on research like this .

I am very interested in this list, but I like to see percentages, say over 3 dfferent crosses,or 3 different breedings with the females, say 5 to 10 breedings on a male, as it is now with UKC historical list a female has to have 20 pups or more, butif an older dog has 80 pups with 20 titled out it would be 25%, and they may be no.1 0n the list, where another female may have had only say 24 pups before she got killed in the road, but 8 of those are titled so that would put her at 33%, but she could be way down the list as it is now in UKC's historical list.
Also on the males they have to have 100 pups, how many good producing studs might not be even close to 100 pups. I know some of the redbones that are on the list only just qulaify.
all of this is just my opinion and I am not trying to discredit anyones dog.

Well now your figuring out why I had the list done in the first place. I learned a lot from the first list ,I think now I will be able to see some patterns developing as we compare the one's that have moved up. I think I'll keep it all for myself this time. BAHHHAAA !!!

I wouldnt mind splitting the cost if ya share the list... I also don't think it should be up to one man to pay for the list.

Kelly, I know of one female that would be on your list now that was not on the first list. But her Sire and Dam were on the first list. I hope that one of her offspring will be on the "list" in a couple of years also.

yes,

It's based off most titled offspring and they must have been titled in the last 5 years ,this keeps current dogs only on the list. Also there is no limit on pups. It's a true current top reproducers list and last time we found many dogs that had never made it to the magazine list but that had better numbers. It's not the end all, be all but it's pretty cool.

I like the idea of it. No list will tell the full story of every dog but it does give people a heads up on dogs that may be starting to show a good reproducing record. It is also nice to use when looking at dogs from a particular line who are starting to reproduce but don't have enough pups on the ground to show in the magazine. If you start to see several dogs from the same line on the list...that is very useful information to breeders and pup buyers. I really hope people start to pay more attention to the females on the list and more breeders start putting more emphasis on breeding better and better females in the future. Good job Kelly

A list like this really makes sence to me---give me percentages overall and on the living dogs that I can get pup or breed to, great tool to help put the reddogs toward the top. KELLY, you have a great idea.

Richard, I fried up that list last time and ate it. It tasted like crap ,maybe because I forgot to soak it. Darrin ,just what kinda marinade do you soak your list's in. I was thinking of making one out of mushrooms and a shot or two of J.D. What do you think. LOL,LOL

Soak the list with the mushrooms, but don't cut it up. Send copies of the list (smelling like morel mushrooms) to your friends in December.

Ok boys ,I talked with the good people at UKC this morning and the new LIST is in process. It should be done sometime this month. I am expecting some changes. My plans are to show everyone the numbers... but keep the names to myself. BaHHaHHaaa !!
The List is a great way to put together some supercross pedigrees it's also alot of fun to look over. I can't wait to see who is doing what.

Remember last time I had it run, we were figuring out new crosses. ...breed #3 to #5 etc. This time we will see a bunch of those crosses and we will have real live dogs in the hunts to determine if the numbers really make a difference. Can't wait to see the new list.

Yes, I think that quite a few of those crosses were made. It will be very interesting to see if they "worked".
