what past females has left there mark in the English breed

What past females left a mark in the English breed I've always been told a female has more to do with a litter of pups than a male does just want other people thoughts please keep it clean

Previous #1 & #2 Historical reproducers for quite awhile

GRNTCH Timber Valley Lucky

GRNTCH Northridge Willy's JoJo

Produced on every stud they where bred to...been several nice ones help the breed I just favor these two gyps for the type of hound I like to follow.

Makes one wonder what might have been if there would have been more than one pup born out of the two matings between Wilcox Thunder Bingo and Blue Magic Gold?

Hard to argue with the success of Timber Valley Lucky and Wilcox Thunder Saint Nick from that cross.

As far as marking the English breed, I have to give a shout out to several of Carter Long's females. An English fancier would be hard pressed to find a dog without one of Carter Long's females somewhere in the pedigree.

Backroads Rosie

Another good female is Backroads Rosie (deceased) owned by Russ Jones. still holding on at #9 on historical top reproducing females . in 98 she won 4th at ukc world & in 2000 placed 13th . That same year she made history by also sharing the top 20 with her son Dark Time Danny Boy ( Longs Crossroad Dan X Rosie ) as a 1 yr old whom if my memory is right,, he got 7th or so <( it hasnt happened often in the history UKC that a mother & son make the top 20, esp the English breed) . She also welped Herds Barber Creek Ace (Cabin Creek Rowdy X Rosie) whom in 2004 placed 17th at the UKC World hunt.

In addition to the the above she welped dual grand Jones' Raisin Cain , Gr Nt Ch Postells Power Packin Polly, GRNtCH Postells Power Packin Pete , a GRNT male in Kansas (Rosie X Wilcox's St Nick) cant rem his name ? There are several other pups that turned out to make Coondogs that never got pushed too hard in the Big hunts or hunted in comp at all. I know of 2. Its always good when pups end up in the hands of good hunters that promote them in competition, it definitely makes a difference, especially for the numbers/percentages computed that we all go off of.
There are several grand & great grand pups out of Rosie that are making a showing as well. One trait you could always see out of a Rosie pup > they was always getting off by themselves and gettin treed - SUPER independent. Rosie has definitely made a positive impact on our breed as numbers don't lie.

Ok I will throw a name out there for consideration. Bowmans Ladybird. She was bred to Boyds little Joe, and produced Bates Blue Cash, Jewells Wild Willie, She was bred to Brewers Red River Spot, and produced Bates Screaming Deamon. Look at all the fine hounds that run back to those dogs.

But probably the best one would have been, Boyds Little Joe's Mother. I think her name was Boyd's Nell. Most every English dog breathing today goes back to that dog somewhere, LOL.

DAISY came from a good cross. My friend Paul Barton had a littermate to DAISY, she was a loud, stay put, rapid fire treedog. Those AMOS females really crossed good on MICHIGAN SWAMP ROOSTER. Paul called her SWAMP FAN. She had been in one or two hunts and had a 1st or 2nd. Paul bred her to LONG'S CROSSROADS DAN and was still hunting her when she was starting to get heavy. He took her one night and he was getting ready to stop hunting her until the pups were weaned when she fell out of a leaning tree that was atop a little hollow that added about another 20 extra feet to her fall. She was as nice as I have ever seen for her age. I never hunted with DAISY but I have heard the she was the same way. I know this,

Oakwoods Diamond

Current #1 historical producer, and she was bred to several different males, and produced from all of them. Diamond was also out of a litter of nice hounds. Mighty Molly was also a nice reproducer, that turned out some nice hounds as well......

I think you probably gotta throw Oconee River Queen in there as well as Red Ruby Hardtime Pearl but I might be a little bias. Sure been lots of good ones along the way and I'm sure some will go unmentioned that impacted someone's kennel with positive results.

got my vote.

Having hunted Queen personally in her older age, she also still holds my vote for the most awesome locate I have ever heard on a hound. period. male or female.

I remember letting David Minson hunt with her one night when she was staying here. The goal was to tune her up so she could be hunted at Autume Oaks that year. I had hauled her non stop from Boone IA to my house here on the Missouri Kansas line, then on to Davids in Oklahoma. David really wanted to see her go, so after letting her pee in the road I unsnapped her.

The young dogs were bogged down on a track already, and she went to them (they weren't in very far) opened I think twice, then moved it out (pups had been bogged down for several minutes) and when she hit the tree with that locate (first time I had ever heard it or david either) we both looked at each other with jaws dropped. the only words I spoke were SON OF A *((()*^^^. Davids reaction was "no way to miss that is there. i bet you can tree her on that locate too"

it had been several years before that since she had even been out of the pen.......and we had literally just drove 400+ miles and got there 20-30 minutes before I unsnapped her.
