Looking for a lot of information of the original Looper dog. I believe it was House Lipper something or along those lines.

No sir, he was a walker dog. Only reason I'm posting about it and asking is because I couldn't find anything on here either. I promise you boys I'm not blowing smoke. I have very good resources and am wanting to know more about him.

I think Lipper's reproduction was 7.5 percent. When you look at this, if he was 10% that means 1 pup out of every 10 puppy's had a title, but he was less then this. He had to have about 13 or 14 pups to produce 1 champion. When Lipper was being bred to a lot the good crosses would have more then one champion in them like 6 or 8 or lets say 10, when this happened there is 127 pups based on 7 pups a litter or the next 17 or 18 litters were duds based on 7.5 reproduction. Now when you put Lipper up against Stylish Clover (Whitey), Skuna River Bark, Skuna River Fred or River Bend Flag. and look at their reproduction based on UKCs PAD, (PUPS AND DEGREES) these dogs only had around 1000 pups each, when Lipper had over 5000 pups. You need to take Whitey, Bark, Fred and Flags champions X 5 and see who are the top reproducers. Then you look at PKC back in that time when Lipper was so called big, and you don't see them on the all-time money winner list, there is a reason for that.. Just something to think about........

The last litter sired by Lipper sold for $5000 a piece, the only problem was there was only 7 pups, If you base your breeding on titled percentages you will waste many many many nites looking at a dog bark at an empty tree!

What he did help Produce were Hounds with :
BIG Mouths
Big Hunting Hounds
Endless Drive
One Man type of Hounds
Some were Bawl/Screaming Tree Dogs
Some were a little trashy until they started treeing Coon

What do you base your breeding on? All I'm saying is when your breeding the best females in the world to a stud dog like Lipper and there is only 7 pups out of 100 that make it, no way was he doing his part, and out of these Lipper pups was there any at the World hunt this year? Where are those $5,000 pups? and out of the seven how many are Gr. Nite champions and where did they win? The PKC hunt they had a few months back that had a $6,500 entry fee that sold out as soon as the hunter found out about it, Was there any entered in that hunt? A little food for thought....

Most of us that have been around have tried them all(different strains) threw the years, no hounds have ever left a mark on me like Lipper hounds, when you get the right lipper blood, (yes there is good and bad in all) most of the rest will seem boring

It's easy to breed for looks, but when your breeding for what is inside the dogs head the part you can't see, its different......

Everyone thinks they have top notch dogs, but you never answered my questions, YOU NEVER ANSWERED MY QUESTIONS.... will they hunt with 3 Sum, Bill, Milt Down, Jane, Thrill, Jake, or a dozen other dogs that didn't come off that blood line! That is a little hard for me to believe. They don't have to be big and bold and loud and pretty, and blanket backed, they have to have the coon! HeHeHeHeHe!!

At least some people know of him lol, I was just wanting information on him due to the fact that the man who thought me to coon hunt has a Lipper pup that is 8 weeks old now. I'm a Blue man myself lol

Wow you sure own a lot of dogs and I’m sure there better than my ol pot lickers but load a few of them up an come on over anytime.

Do you even know what for dogs I'm talking about? You must not, because the dogs in the quote above all Won over $100,000.00 each and are the most powerful dogs in the country today! At the PKC World Hunt they put 450 casts in the woods that week and half counting the youth hunt. Sambo got in a cast with 3 Sum and that was the end of him. As far as someone selling pups and making money, Lipper might be the way to go but the part I don't get is when you pay $5,000 for a pup you should get one hellva Guarantee with that pup....

I know Lipper had over 5000 pups, but lets just use 1000 pups to take a look at this 7.5 % of reproduction that was calculated by UKCs PUPS AND DEGREES (PAD) that is in the back of the Coonhound Bloodlines Magazine. ( 7.5% of 1000 pups is 75 dogs with titles) 1000 pups minus 75 pups equals 925 pups that are not titled? At 7 pups per litter average the titled ones came out of 7 and half litters. The 925 pups that are left divided by 7 pups per litter is 132 litters with No titled dogs in them, this is with some of the top females in the country being bred to him. Now when you bred a female with frozen semen that is not a proven cross and no way could be because the proven females would be deceased , what would be the odds of getting a winner out of a dog like that? I'm just using the facts that are given to us by UKCs PAD. With 5000 pups that would be 75 titled dogs in every 1000 pups or 375 titled dogs in 5000 pups. 53 litters had titled dogs and 660 litters did not. You can look at it anyway you want but 7.5% reproduction equals the above...
