Growing Up Bluetick.....
Here's the Judge... This was his first time out since we've owned him. He's 4 1/2 months old.
Took the dogs out to road the other night, as we had a bunch of stuff to do and couldn't make it up to the bear woods... Took Judge along to start teaching him to road, and get some of his baby fat off, and just see how he'd react.
Didn't take long for Crash to get a coon going. To our suprise, Judge was getting in the briars, trailing, opening on track, right up there with all the Walkers, just like he'd been doing it all along. Since we brought him home at 11 weeks, we've done nothing but let him be a pup. Never showed him a coon hide, layed a drag, seen a trainer - Nothing. I was quite impressed.... He's got a HUGE Bawl fog horn of a mouth too, and it never ends!
We had a short night, as Crash didn't want to road and kept starting tracks and swimming over to the other side and I'd have to call him back. (Deer season's open, can't be in the woods, have to stay on the road)
Looks like we might actually have natural coondog now... Not just a bear dog that can run and tree a coon... But, I think he might make us a bear dog too
Not the best picture... But he had been trailing and stopped to throw up his head and let out a long bawl... My camera don't focus fast at night so I sorta missed the shot...

hes looking good Cassandra!
Hope he keeps up the good progress! 100% natural is what we breed for. It would make him the 4th generation of natural coon and bear dogs born here in our kennel.
I'm just glad I'm not keeping a male from this litter because I wouldn't want to go up against him in the shows!
He's doing good so far! I wish he could run bear this year, the way he acts he probably would! But he'll get to go to some trees!
I hear ya about the shows. Glad I CH'd Buster... But now poor Crash will never have a chance! LOL. Only thing is, I haven't stacked or worked with Judge since we got him, so he's gonna be a handful! Now your little Diamond is gonna spank my poor Sassy on the bench next year too! I knew I shoulda showed her more!
I think Melanie will bring her dogs down and beat us all though

ROMFLMAO... My potlickers beat you guys?!?!?... Doesn't matter you haven't tried stacking the Judge.. I have tried with Tuff... Little @sshole
I am going north with him to practice before he competes against his brother.. .. Try and give us a jump-start... I think we are going to throw him in the pack at the end of cat season and see what he does... He tried to eat the housecat the other day... Maybe good things in his future

You've only got 3 choices in life, give in, give up, or give it all you got.
Melanie is definitely going to have her hands full stacking Tuff on the bench. He HATED it as a baby!!! Sorry Mel! You're probably going to have to break out the high-value treats when you're working him around the house.
Judge *was* easy. Hopefully he still will be. Usually once I stop taking weekly pics at 12 wks old I don't bother to stack them again until a week or two before their first show. Or else I take them to handling class where they're only stacked on the ground.
I think the female in this litter with the overall nicest conformation is the blue eyed girl (figures!!). But I haven't seen DJ's pup since he took her home. She was a little butt about stacking too, though.
Female 1 (Chica) is really nice, but I don't know if she's going to make minimum height. Maybe she already is, I haven't bothered to measure any of them and I'm so not used to having really itty bitty girls!
Diamond's head is weak......well okay, it's "feminine". She got her grandma's coloring, but she sure didn't get her big ol houndy head. Bummer!! If Chica is within standard, she could probably give Diamond a run for her money in the shows.
