Price Of Dog Food

I will start this out with I can't ever remember complaining about the price of dog food and I'm 58. Well that streak is over. I get my dog food shipped to my front door from Chewy. Got tired of the stores being out of food all the time. I feed Purina Pro Plan. It wasn't that long ago it was in 50lbs bags and was under $50 dollars. Now the bags keep getting smaller and the price larger. I just received an e-mail from Chewy saying Purina has now made the bag 40 lbs instead of 41 lbs and for the two bags I buy every 5 weeks the price went up $17.45. I get free shipping. I have always liked and had good luck with Purina but I am now going to look around. This price gouging of the American public has to end. Sick and **** tired of stuff still being blamed on COVID. Ladies and gents I want Trump back SOON. This is out of hand.

Ingredients go up, freight goes up, so does the dog food. Joy doesn't like it either. We make less on a bag of dog food right now then when the price per bag was 10 dollars less. I can't speak for Purina, but I know for us that it is definitely not price gouging.

A new administration would be a good start.

Josh what are your bag sizes and prices? Also where can I look at ingredients. I fed Joy when I was a young man. As far as price gouging I meant gas, ingredients, bread, eggs. Basically everything has went up and up. A lot of companies have took advantage of Covid to raise prices. I'm in the car business. It has been totally nuts.

I agree, and it trickles down to the rest of us. We are cheaper than Pro Plan but higher than most other feeds. Hi Energy is the most popular formula amongst houndsmen, and it comes in 50 pound bags and costs around $55-58

Just head over to joydogfood.com and there is a dealer locator and our product line. Let me know if I can help in any way.

High Energy is a 24/20 with Pumpkin Meal
High Performance is a 26/18

Prices are usually identical.

I tried to PM you but your box is full.

I was in a store yesterday and the prices on joy are up there.

26/18: $55
24/20: $62
30/20: $70

I'm man just 2 years ago it was 30-45 range. All of the prices on dog food is ridiculous.

As far as Purina. I think they have way to many options to choose from. There prices would probably be some what better if they cut out of the lines they have.

I've been feeding ProPlan Sport for years, always satisfied with the product, however the price on a 50lb bag exceeded $80 locally, which I felt was too much. I decided to try Joy 24/20 high energy as recommended, and I'm satisfied with the results and price, just wish it were easier to acquire. I'm feeding coonhounds and bird dogs.

Might need to clean out your sent folder as well as your tracking folder in your PM box. It still says your box is full.

Time to "shop/buy local"......check out ur local feed Mills that actually manufacture their own dog food.
Worth looking into.
Their not gonna have all the overhead that "big" manufactures do...nor all the bells and whistles to go along w/all the hype.
National dog food manufactures have gotten out of this working man's budget for my hobby....
$50-$70 for a bag for dog food is RIDICULOUS.I won't pay that much for dog food.

Purina pro plan sport is now $90. For a 37 LB bag before our 13% sales tax and our pro club discount is now only on pro plan food.
Just can't afford it anymore here in this country.

fleet farm

I buy eukanuba , or pro plan . Sometimes mix in Blue . All top shelf brands. I stock up when it is on sale, I have coupons or you get free gift cards from fleet farm. Before covid I would get it at about 1 dollar per pound. Now after covid it is 1.25 per pound or a little higher. I also have a store when if the careless employee rips a bag open by mistake , he will sell it to me at half price. I wiil mix this in a little bit at a time. I just got a big bag of purina high pro for 1/2 price, the regular price was 70 dollars a bag, that is just rediculous if you feed more than one dog. I also will mention there are some top shelf brands of dog food the dogs and dieing from an enlarged heart condition. These are grain free dog foods.

If you voted for a Democrat in any election of late, don't blame the food companies, blame yourself. Biden is intentionally wrecking our economy and the price you and I are paying for dog food is just a very small portion of the larger picture the democrats and their socialist adgenda has in store. You ain't seen nothing yet.

Best dog food on the planet at 578 k/cup nothing else compares.
Inukshuk 32/32 at 720 k/cup is K9 jet fuel.

Mike did you buy bulk to get it at that price ?

Dave I'd bet you could get inukshuk shipped by the pallet from New Brunswick for half the price of pro plan and its far better feed in my opinion.

Here the deal. If you can't afford to feed them get rid of them. There is more important things to discuss.
