acrobatic ability

lol we had a discusion about athletic ability in a hound----well this pup says he goes way by being an athlete--- he is an acrobat -- lol he did this same trick over and over-- - would hang on to bark till he was exhausted then fall in the mud --- then do it again - he did finaly wear himself out and go back to treeing - lol

Years ago a buddy of mine said,"a chewing dog will never leave."I said yea but the make it darn hard to hear 'em tree too.LOL

ky hunter why wood you watch your dog chewing with out stoping him,it will onley get worse

i dont have a great reason just excuses -

-- yesterday was the second or third time i guess that he went from strike to tree -- altho he has been turned in to a few trees -i dont like to disipline dogs too hard at their first few trees -

you are right, i dont like dogs to chew- -- i do like to see them as fired up as he was --
to tell ya the truth i kind of was watching him in amazement -- he would hang on to that bark until he wasnt moving-- hanging like he was dead--would cry a little like he was in pain , then drop to ground landing on his back - and get rite up and do it again --

i have never seen a pup do that before but i guess its just a variation of dog climbing tree-

he was treeing hard when i first got there and again before i left -

whats your best method of breaking them from chewing--u can pm me if u want-- my shock collar has been at tritronics the whole season -- and i kind of thought id be better off to wait until he was wearing one to try and break him from chewing --

i usually will put a leash on them and and step on it -- when they are jumping way up the tree- yank em back down-- but he was doing that to himself -

was a foot of mud under that tree and not easy to step on leash -

anyways thats my excuse- - i dont disagree with either you or travis-- cause chewing , climbing , jumping ,doesnt do any good- and can lead to worse -- he is a spoiled rotten pup anyway - lol

i dont know if you have spruce/fir thickets in ky --but i had to lead 6 dogs out thru some of worst around-- and thats punishment enuff -

HE LOOKS LIKE HE HE IS HAVING THE TIME OF HIS LIFE....
NO NEED IN SPOLING IT FOR HIM AT THAT YOUNG OF AND AGE... IF HE IS DOING THAT GOOD ON THE GAME....

yup thats the truth

naa i didnt take it wrong --

nobody that owns a hound ought to be too thin hided lol

--i cant hear a dog chewing - does no good for them to chew-

they can do some damage to trees and i dont want that either

dogs that climb trees get hurt -

dogs that really got to sail up that tree can land on another dog

all things i try to discourage -- like your friends saying --

its easier for me to turn them down then try to turn one up lol

sometimes this stuff works itself out

i had a pup one time climb tree and right out limb and grab the bear -

was a dead elm tree rite out in an old grown up field and it was all head high blackberries - her and the bear fell out together -
we were a distance away and couldnt get there in time to do anything --
was kind of a scary deal -- hunted that dog ten years and she was awsome - never saw her climb another tree - i guess she figured that one out on her own -

Pete

If that dog Were a 70 pound weight lifter, Who had been doing the proper number of Weighted Squats. He would Not be Pulling bark he Would have jumped High Enough to Grab the Bear Pull the Bear to the Ground and Kill it with a Single Bite. <LMAO>
O" By the way I am deeply wounded that there are no English dog's in that pic!!!!!!!!!! I am sure there are several in your state. I think that You need to take Pic's and Report on at least One English for every 7 Walker's. <LOL>
Well now that I have vented I will call the pharmacy and see if my Prozac is ready. <LOL>
