Just found this out myself the other day sounds great to me. I plan on getting my out of state hunting permit and coming over a chasing a few. It makes it a whole lot closer to me to hunt them than going down in Missouri

Wait for snow, take your best dog, find a fresh track. Walk him on it till he wants to go on it and you think he can take it.
Prolly not exactly as easy as it sounds but the best way..

curby's right but make sure ya know the difference between a cat track and a coyote.Maybe better to take a young dog that isn't all the way broke cause ya may have trouble getting your good coon dog to go on em,sometimes when your walkin a track with a broke coon dog they think its a set up and won't run it.Better in that country to run in the daylight too, they'll stay treed a little better.Another tip when you finally get one treed as your walking in only walk when the dog is barking,if he quits barking stop walkin'.Another tip once he gets the track going if you don't have a cat dog walk with your dogs to help them figure out any looses they make(in the snow).Best advice get a cat dog if ya wanna be serious.

The problem is they are only allowing 150 cats to be harvested and it starts early november. Hopefully we wont have any snow that early in southern iowa or were in deep sheep up north. Were going to have to figure something out.

I caught this young bobcat while trying for a coon. Took a couple of cool pics, then turned him loose. This was on my farm just south of the Iowa border.
