Jimmy

Boys I know Im not widely known in the coonhunting world, and I definitely am not a breeder. But I do know what a good coonhound is when I see one. Jimmy is on his downhill path in my opinion but was one of the nicest ive been out with of any hound. Ive got a gyp bred to him right now and also already own a young dog off of him. I would recommend him. Nice hound, pups run with head up, most have big mouth, and have a lot of drive in them. Get some before its too late...My two cents in it. David R. Smith

Thanks David

Been fortunate to breed 3 good females lately. Carl Nuckles of Beckley W.V. bred his Dual Grand female to Clear Rver Jimmy in July and she just recently had 13 pups. Bob Powell also bred his female out of Stan Wagner's Jug and Ellie dogs to Jimmy. David bred his Smokey River bred Nt Ch female to Jimmy this month. Should be some nice pups in all 3 litters if everything works out.

Some constants that I hear from owners off Jimmy offspring in every litter. They are smart, have great personalities, loud, great track speed, easy to start and they want to please. I've seen the same things out of the pups I have kept myself.

One thing that does come up, no matter what litter, is that some of his pups will not mess with a cage coon. I don't hardly ever mess with a pup on a cage coon but I have seen some that don't care for a dead coon either. However they love the scent and will run and tree. Saw a young dog off Jimmy, 2nd night out, take his feet off the tree he was treeing on when the coon came out, sniff the coon that had fell out of the tree dead, then put his feet back on the tree and go back to treeing. If you want a cage coon dog or a radical kill dog, some of these Jimmy pups might not work for that. If you want something that doesn't need cage work to get them going, you might want to try a Jimmy pup.

NICE HOUNDS

John, I would like to have a good old fashion pleasure hunt with you and your hounds sometime in the near future. If you are ever over my way look me up. Take care and hope to meet up with you in person sometime, Chris Briner.

Jewel

Jewel put on her best show yet so far tonite. Turned loose twice ran 2 tracks, treed two coons. She stayed treed on both of them for quite awhile. I was very proud of her tonite.

Chris
Thanks. Maybe one of these days we will meet up and be able to take a good old pleasure hunt. That is what I enjoy. Took one week of vacation in the last 21 years. Stayed home the first week of coon season in like 1992 so I could hunt all night instead of half the night. lol. I work every Saturday of the year except the last 2 years so I could go to Bluetick Days. That has been my annual vacation, taking that weekend off. But, I can retire in 20 years and then I might be able to hit some hunts and travel the USA coon hunting. Nice dream anyway.

tickin 73
Glad to hear from someone that got to hunt with Jimmy back when Paul owned him. Paul said he kept Jimmy longer than any dog he ever owned and said that when Jimmy was 2 and was hunted up that he was capable of winning any hunt he was entered in. After Dad bought Jimmy and before Dad's health started failing, we hunted Jimmy way more than he has been hunted the last three years. He would put in some awful impressive performances. One of his hunt test passes, he treed 3 singles in the hour and we didn't rush at all. That doesn't sound real impressive for Ohio in general, but in this part of the state that doesn't happen often.

David
That sounds great. Jewel definitely has the tools to be outstanding when she gets it all together. This season will make a world of difference for her. Sassy is trying to decide to be a coon dog also. I'll get my WV license this week and maybe we can get together and take a little hunt.

John, you have a lot of the exact same blood that is in all of the Echo dogs, for the people that don't want to come to Southern Oklahoma or North Texas to breed to some of the Echo dogs they should be breeding to your dogs or getting pups from you.

I hunted with a pup out of snap and jimmy the other night she really impressed me to the point that I been trying everyday to get her but I think johns in love with her....

Enjoyed the conversation yesterday and hope to touch base with you in the future. Texas or Oklahoma is a long haul from here but I've been know to drive it before and might have to again. I definitely like this style of dog.

Shawn
I always knew you were a blue dog man down deep. I'll convert you yet. lol.

Thanks Eddie

That picture of Leah was when she was about 6 months old I believe. Pretty sure Zach finished her to show champion but haven't talked to him for awhile. Leah's mother, Wendy, is one of the prettiest Bluetick females I've ever seen. There is a litter mate to Leah in Kentucky that I hear is doing some pretty good work also. Another guy had a littermate as well that he liked really well but fell out of a leaning tree and got killed. I tried to call you back but didn't get an answer. I'll try again or you can try to call me between 6 and 7 in the evening. That is when I am generally heading home from work. After that I'll be fooling with the dogs and you may or may not reach me.

I talked to Phillip Whitley last night and he has a littermate to my Little Snap female that he just started hunting. He has had her out 3 times and she is getting deep and getting treed with his brother's dog. Her previous owner had her out one time before Phillip bought her. Phillip said the female is showing independence also and is a real tree dog. I listened to a recording of her on the wood and he isn't stretching it any. Real nice horn on her.

Josh John said his Molly female split twice the other night with the meat. Nice to hear about some of these dogs getting a chance to do their thing in the woods.
