Mighty Oaks Autumn Thunder

Just wanted to share some pictures of my Redbone Thunder. He is out of Vans Red Oaks Magnum and Vans Red Oaks Jackie.

Thunder is alot of fun to hunt. Had a blast with him this past season.

Just a few more.

I'm really proud of Thunder. He is a pleasure to own.

I sent my Black and Tan Lady Belle to a friends house in Clarksville Tenn. so that he could use her as a pup trainer to train some Leopard pups with, because I needed to single out Thunder.
He got better and better as the season progressed.
I trained Lady Belle and I still miss her, but Thunder really came on strong when I singled him out.
I am planning to performance nominate Thunder and put a title or two on him. He will then be put up for stud to Brucelliosis negative approved females only. He is a finished dog. Charm will be finished this year and Rose will be started.

Thunder surpassed Lady Belle in ability and is usually a first strike...first tree type of a hound, that is a pressure tree dog. He is a hard deep hunting dog that drifts a track good and is accurate. He locates with a long dying bawl locate on the tree, then settles into a chop. I have been priviledged to own some very good tree dogs in the past. He ranks with the best that I have ever had the privilege to own.

He looks good....I like his breeding. The best tree dog I ever owned was a direct son of Taylor's Guitar, I tend to like dogs with him in the pedigree.

I spoke with Dennis Van Buren the other evening...he has really produced some nice consistant dogs through his breeding programs. I hope to accomplish with Thunder what you have done with Lilly. Congratulations...here's to many more wins with her! I have been invited to a hunt coming up in March on the 15th and 16th...I think...thought I might put Thunder in it and see how it comes out. It's been a few years since I've competition hunted...I know Thunder has what it takes...hope I do him justice. I wouldn't have Thunder if it weren't for a dear friend of ours, Ron Lawson. Ron sold me Thunder. He and his wife Beth are family to us. Ron owns Rooster, a dog with a name in his own right.

Here's some more pictures per the requests I received. Thanks for asking for them. Thanks to the guys who've shown interest in Thunder. He is not for sale. I would be hard pressed to ever replace him. He has that special "something" in a hound...I gave up some good hounds to good homes to concentrate on him. I'd never find one like him again. Besides...he's my buddy.

Thanks Michael Lilly is truely a pleasure to follow in competition or pleasure. I know I'm not the greatest handler but when you have the dog power at the end of your lead all you have to do is call the dog for what they can do so give thunder a chance to prove to you he's got what it takes to win.I feel truely blessed to own Lilly special thanks to Joe Lewis and Denis VanBuren for this female maybe with a little more luck I can finish her this year. Good luck with Thunder I think this was a outstanding cross by a man who really knows Red bones and is a super guy I'm glad I meet!

Really nice looking hound...especially under the tree. Magnum is a much overlooked stud. He has produced some nice pups on a fairly consistent basis. Good Luck with him.

I am fortunate to own Thunder. Mr. VanBuren has bred a good line of dogs out of Magnum and Jackie. Thunder is one of those dogs that doesn't come around to often. I have my close friend Ron Lawson to thank for allowing me the opportunity to own such a fine dog.
