Can anyone

#1 ?--Tell me how old this dog would be if she was alive today? Hint (first dog I owned)
#2 ?--Can anyone tell me if they hunted with any of the dogs in the pedigree and what kind of dog they were??

Her date of birth was Nov. 24th 1974.

Joe; i guess i'm cheating but i hunted with susie,star,smokey,stella,rebel and brindle boy. I suppose Luckey was a litter mate to Mr. Roarks Smoky. We bred Star to Smokey while we were in Canada. Rebel was one the dogs that i kept while you guys were in Florida. I worked him some on coon and he was a fine young dog. I'm one of the few on here that knew your father. The old times are gone but will never be forgot. Are you still maintaining this blood.

Robert, Luckey was a litter mate to Smokey. And yes I still have the same line of dogs. So are you the one that my Dad, (Gene Elrod) and my brother Jess hunted hog with?

Joe; My initial contact with your family was in the 1960's. In 1964 Hoke Rawlins and Bud Lyons started a Georgia Plott Day at Milner Ga., hosted by the Buck Creek Coon Hunters Assoc.

Ernest; came down with Carl Roark and established a good name. He got Mr Carl SOLD on bEAR hunting in the U.P. and i met the rest of the family when i started going up with Carl; after Ernest past on and your Mother married Gene.

That's the reason i said i was probably cheating=I was right in the middle of all the dog in the pedigree. I knew Elwood Overbeck but never hunted with any of his dogs. The same with Mr Danials, but Brindle Boy and Stella knew what to do in the woods.

Robert,I have been told that my father (Ernest) made a good name for himself with these plott dogs and with the NPHA..I was only 6 years old when he passed. In fact he passed away on Dec.10th. 1967,I was born on Dec.10.1961.

My dad (Gene) did not do too much with the NPHA,but he sure was the hunter.And if it was not for him, I am not sure of where I would be today. He is the reason I still hunt and have plott hounds.When Ernest died my mother keep some of his dogs and from what I have been told the ones that were let go went to MR. Roark..My dad was a coon hunter only and when he got with my mom and started to hunt with the dogs that my mother keep. My dad got rid of the Redbone and Walkers that he owned and went all plotts too..And than also became a bear hunter with one of the best packs of plotts that you could have..

I was just a kid when my dad got Weems Cascade Smokey,But I remember Smokey sleeping on the hood of my dad truck when we were bear hunting and he came wide awake because he got sent of a bear. now that is what I call a bear dog. From that day on is when I decided I was going to hunt dogs that went back to Smokey..And I still do. Weems Cascade Smokey is laid to rest right behind my ma`s house, just like many other plotts that my father and my dad had owned..
