Local K9 officer remembered as a Hero...please read

A local K9 is being remembered as a Hero, as he was stabbed in the line of duty, fought for his life, however the wounds were too much. He was stabbed so badly in messed up his spine, and went all the way to his kidneys. He has blood transfusions and other operations and was upgraded from critical to serious, however a few hours later, he lost the fight as it was too much and he began to bleed again. Flags were flown at half mass and it is said that not only did he save his handlers life, but the life of 2 other fellow officers. It was said that if he was wearing a vest it may of well saved his life. I was looking on a website called vestadog.org and they have 2 different types of vests for police dogs. One that is bullet proof and one that is bullet/stab proof. One vest cost $875...therefore I am trying to raise money to purchase one vest to see if it would be something that the Pittsburgh Police might be interested in investing it. I read that they have vests but they don't fit well on them so they just don't wear them. As I was reading about the vests on the website I believe these are excellent quality and they would not have that same problem. If you would like to read more about this sad story here is a link:
