What "top" bred Jug dogs do you plan on using in your program?

Posted by dchartt on 02-25-2014 07:59 PM:

The two old line leopards you have that you will be going off of for the other part of your breeding, they sure are good looking dogs, how long have you owned them?

Why the secrecy on the Jug bred dogs if you dont mind me asking, something out there no one knows about?

Posted by gary somers on 02-26-2014 01:59 AM:

I sent you some pics of that female were talking about

Hope you guys keep us updated on you programs. I don't ever intend to become a breeder but i find this stuff fascinating. I do have a male dog i got from Jason Abbott that i plan on breeding to a female he helped me get from L.D.Meyers someday . I don't plan on selling them though. I will keep what i want and give the rest away. I want Jason to pick the one he wants and then L.D. to pick his , and i will then give the rest away. I think both are going to be real nice dogs . My male Jake already is , and my female Molly is doing a real good job for her age also. I just don't have the energy at 63 to start a breeding program, I'll leave that to you younger guys. Good luck and again please keep us updated.

Jason and LD are top breeders, and have produced some very good Leopards. I got a pup from Jason out of Scout and Asia that I named Jubal who is running and treeing and very gamey. Justin Carroll is training him. We're all doing the same as you...breeding for what we want and passing on our other pups to hunters.

Gary Somers has some really fine Leopards, and Mike Rogers is fine tuning his stock picks as well. Those two are finding and buying some pretty good hard treeing Leopards.

Gary has a coon pen that is 5 acres that he starts and trains dogs in for the general public. We, along with others, are working together on our programs.

I have been getting a lot of requests for pups...since I don't have any available, I have been referring those folks asking for pups to several breeders including Jason, LD and others.

Have a good day, Danny. We'll keep you updated...

My male dog is out of Jasons Bandit dog ,and his Asia dog. He is a dandy in my opinion. My female is out of Scout and a cross between Bandit and his mother Sadie. I really like both dogs. Im a newcommer to the leps but i sure like them.
