Oh Snap!!! I think we got a coondog on our hands!
Well things are finally just starting to wind down with work and last night I finally said enough is enough, and went hunting. I decided to take Snap and a young walker dog and my old Grnitech walker as a pup trainer. Bear in mind now this is only the fourth night I have ever turned Snap loose. Anyways For the first drop I head to a lightly wooded draw that has a creek flowing through it that fills a nice big pond. I cut the dogs and they all shoot in about a hundred yards and I hear Snap open to the left. Meanwhile my old walker dog goes to to the right and opens with a locate and starts treeing. Well Snap never payed her no mind and within a few minutes he starts treeing over to the left all by himself. The young walker can't decide what tree he likes and is going back and forth between the two, but Snap never budged. As a matter of fact it was the old dog that couldn't stand the pressure and she pulled to the pup! Well we start walking in and sure enough he has a coon! Well I am pretty excited at this point so I say let's go see what he will do in the timber. We drive a few miles down the road and I cut Snap by himself into a huge heavily wooded valley that goes for a mile and half. Well he shoots in there and by the garmin he is several hundred yards up there but hasn't struck yet. Meanwhile the other young walker I have along is letting us know that he isn't too happy about being left in the box so I finally have enough of him barking in the box and turn him loose too. By this time Snap is about 700 yards from the truck and I can hear him opening so we get to hiking. About halfway to him he comes on the wood so I say let's see what he is made of and I check the time and sit down and listen to the music for 5 full minutes before I start heading his way. The young walker goes into to Snap's tree but isn't sure it is there so he keeps going back on the track and then coming back to the tree and leaving again. Didn't seem to phase Snap to bad. A time or two while we had the five running on him he shut up for just a few seconds and listened to the walker pup but he never pulled. Anyways we get to his tree and he has got another one! Man has this young dog got me pumped! I haven't ever had a young dog show me this much after just a few nights in the woods.

Sounds like Snap is doing great good luck with him! I know I sure like his two littermates that I have and the one John Williams is looking good to. This just might turn out to be one of those litters that is way above average and there is only 6 in the litter so I know of 5 of the 6 that are coon crazy so thats great keep us all posted!
