Who Would You Like To See Featured In Coonhound Bloodlines Magazine ??

Who would you like to see featured in your upcoming breed issue of Coonhound Bloodlines? Any particular dog, bloodline, kennel, breeder or handler you would enjoy reading about? Coonhound Bloodlines magazine is interested in your suggestions. Now keep in mind some of the ones that will be suggested may have been featured in the last couple years. Try to make recommendations you don’t remember seeing featured recently.

Historical suggestions for both dogs and breeders are great. Current dogs, breeders and handlers deserve to be acknowledged. Let’s hear your suggestions. Can’t think of a better group to ask than those of you most active in the breed!

Feel free to post them here or submit your recommendations to editor Vicki Rand.

Jerry lee and Larry mcmorris might be kinda cool. If my history is right Larry got the grace female going in the hunts and then jerry was able to finish her out making grave the first ever grand nite champion leopard female.

Skyline Kennels

Todd, I would like to see Jim Hill and Skyline Kennels for sure . As few titled Leps as there are in the country, Jim not only has 1 , but has 2 . Buck and Pride has proved themselves time and time again to represent the breed in a great way . I am of course biased, but I think they both should represent the leopards by being on the cover of the January Bloodlines. Thank you for your consideration, Ronnie Hill

Grch confirmation champion Elburns Indigo.

I think the show dogs have brought more attention to and promoted the breed. It would be interesting to see featured on tge front cover. Maybe talk about how that litter of dogs has helped make American Leopard Hounds a household name.

I would like to see Jim Hill and GRNITECH GRCH Skyline Uncle Buck on the cover. I have hunted with Jim for many years and he is the person that got me interested in competition hunting. He has made 5 GRCH 2 CH 1 NITECH and 1 GRNITECH in the leopard breed. Pride and Buck are both nice hounds that have represented the breed well and proved that they have what it takes to win.

I would vote for Mr Jim Hill and his dogs to be on the cover

I would like to see Grace on the cover being she was our first Grand Nite Ch Leopard female after we joined UKC as a hound and also I believe she was our high scoring Leopard female at the Grand American to not all of her wins were Local wins and that means a lot.

An article about her would be great and also a article about some of the show dogs on the bigger show circut would be good to.

John, is it a bad thing to support our local clubs by participating in their hunts and winning a few .

Ronnie, no not at all the local hunts keep it all rolling and your Dad Jim Hill's dogs have done well. But there is a difference when you compare hunting on your own local ground compared to traveling hours away and hunting in strange country some dogs in fact most dogs don't travel well so to do it on the road is a major deal. Kinda like sports we all know everybody wants home feild advantage thats so they are rested and at home with no big changes from being on the road thats my point.

I would like to see a Ron Ganus interview. Ron has been around a long time and has been involved in many great crosses and with many great dogs at a variety of different levels. He doesn't get involved with the internet conversations and it would be unlikely that the sort of information that could be read about in an interview would surface any where else. And, he's not getting any younger. Love him or hate him, he's really got some interesting things to say and would make for a great read. The history of the Leopard would certainly be incomplete without a Ron Ganus interview. Whether it's this issue or next (there certainly could be several interviews in the same issue), that's one I would really like to see.

Your right Dan, but I dont know how much of that interview would meet politically correct standards. Some of these guys are pretty thin skinned.
Tommy Byrd passed this last year and with him went alot of leopard history that should have been recorded.

I've been good friends with Ron for more than a decade now and I think everyone would be surprised at how few feathers his take on things would really ruffle. When you strip away the deals that didn't go as planned, personal differences with individuals and all of the other crap that doesn't really matter, the interview starts to sound pretty intriguing. Throw that together with the Ganus family pool of breeding knowledge and it starts to get really fun. Having Ron's brother around certainly didn't hurt his ability to practice the art of breeding and it is the true artist that makes all the difference. It's the difference between painting fences and portraits.

Anyhow, I'm the one that ruffles all of the feathers in a public forum, not Ron.
