Unknowen

I have a black&tan and the man that raised the pup through the puppy papers away, then sold the dog. Now with the parents being unknown, how can I register this hound to be in the hunts.
It looks like the only way is to go is X Bred, is this right.

Well...it's like this. If you were to call the registration department they will tell you that any dog that was litter registered is not eligible to be single registered. That you would need to go through the duplicate process to recover those lost puppy papers.

However...to the best of my knowledge, you will not find that rule in print. Nor will you see any restriction on the coonhound single registration form that requires you to verify the dog was never litter registered. And a hound with unknown parents may be registered as X-Bred.

Therefore...you see where I'm going with this?
